Dolce
Loved the last story, can’t wrap my head around the first. People sure seem to get over being raped in yaoi pretty easily..
Violence Na Kimi Ga Suki
Very cute but the Dad’s a little disturbing in his closeness
Hokenshitsu no Target
Two stories in this manga. 1. The Target In The School Infirmary: Delinquent student Toudou is in pursuit of the school infirmary nurse Miura as part of a bet. However, his sensei turns the tables on him and leaves the teen confused, angry and overwhelmed by his feelings. I liked the cautious sensei because he wasn’t some predator at school chasing kids. I loved Toudou, he was adorably clueless yet assertive. A mix of take charge, manipulative and totally helpless, Toudou was surprised to find himself very much in love with Miura. The two together worked for me. There was something sweet about sensei”s love of Toudou’s airhead side. 2. Roommates: College dorm roommates Miwa and Katou are about to graduate from college and begin their working lives. Katou has his new job lined up and wants to move in with his roommate Miwa to a shared apartment. However Miwa refuses because he loves his straight and kind roomie but Katou only sees him as a good friend. Knowing his feelings can’t be reciprocated, the last thing Miwa wants is to live a moment longer with his tempting friend and says this very clearly. And then Miwa accidentally confesses...
Kimi wa Mou Kamenai
Omega Oliver William is living in a isolated cottage on his family’s land. The oldest son of a family of alphas, Oliver is an omega whose bond had been forcibly severed. Liam Dawkins (beta) was hired by Noah, Oliver’s younger brother, to care for the lonely omega. This is their story and it was really a good one. Full consent between the MCs (a rarity in Omegaverse), a protective and loving seme, an omega who blossomed under his care, and a baby.
Dekiai Rule
Miyashita sensei was always calm and controlled. An overachiever whose perfectly structured life was disrupted when he took his lust focused student, Jindou under his wing. Trying his best to keep Jindou on track with his studies, sensei had to guide Jindou personally. I liked the story, especially as Jindou started to develop more self respect. The art was a little inconsistent; sometimes the characters looked so much older.
Natsumichi Drive
Youngest of four brothers who are all the smart nerdy type, 18yo Michiharu only receives disdain for his failing grades. Determined to have him improve, his parents send him to be tutored by his cousin Natsuki in Hiroshima during summer break. Their story was surprisingly romantic, given Natsuki’s reputation (according to his little sister) and first impressions. Little moments of hand holding and fingers linking, sweet words of support and encouragement. I loved the confession scene and really thought that the story had a fluffy, feel good vibe overall.
Vanilla Resort
A perfectly gentle slice of life. Shy and socially awkward Mutsu is a successful adult mangaka but so driven with work he neglects to look after himself. On one of his rare forays out, Mutsu bumps into his old basketball team senpai, Akiharu. Realising the gentle Akiharu was in search of a job, Mutsu eagerly offered a position as live in caretaker/housekeeper with one of the only people he feels comfortable with. The rest of the story is their evolving relationship and it’s so sweet. Akiharu is a born nurturer who is perfect for Mutsu, and Mutsu has loved him for longer than Akiharu could imagine. Sweet, fluffy but still very much a Yaoi, this has all the elements I love in a top manga.
Sensei Nante Kirai Desu.
