Yome Ni Konai Ka
Over the top, suspend common sense silliness abounds in these stories. Who cares though? They are adorable and cute, full of dramatic scenes worthy of a daytime soap and love that is 100% fluffy goodness.
Uchi no Darling Gaikokujin
The first story was very cute but I didn’t like the characters in the second story.
Hana No Migoro Ni
What a beautiful conclusion for one of the sweetest couples in the yaoiverse. I am so glad Takarai Rihito revisited these guys and gave them even more happiness
Kekkon Shite Kudasai!
Adorable Omegaverse story about an omega marriage broker and his rich, incredibly good looking alpha client. A client who match’s all his potential brides with other men. And a client who may have more to do with this Omega than he realizes.
Royal Fiancé
An old style romantic fairytale with a yaoi spin. A lonely prince forced to marry according to tradition and not for love and the poor but sweet boy who gets selected to be the unwitting bride. This is the kind of story where misconceptions and anger have the prince lashing out at his bride and using him cruelly because he believes that the boy he thought was beautiful is a gold digger. It made me feel super sorry for the uke to be forced and treated so coldly when he deserved kindness and respect. The prince needed to feel more pain for his treatment of his bride, I would have liked to see a bit more suffering tbh. Still, it’s literally a HEA for the pair and they are going to be alright in the long run.
Honjitsu wa Ohigara mo Yoku
The fox and rabbit story was full of fluffy sweetness. Rikka (the son of the rabbit head) went to the fox land in order to query the terms of a fox/rabbit alliance. What he didn’t expect was for the son of the house of foxes Shirou, to fall in love with him at first sight. Next thing, Shirou and Rikka were wed and the love was being reciprocated. The story moved at a fast pace and was told in segments (eg, newlyweds, falling in love, falling pregnant, their son at 5 etc). It was a shame in some ways because a lot of world and relationship building could have really given depth to the story. But it was still lovely and full of love and happiness. The 2nd story of the stressed and sex addicted salaryman and the pretty (and formerly frigid) prostitute was ok. Also fast paced there was no unnecessary drama (surprisingly considering their characters) and a fast track to being perfect for each other. Nothing special but still a nice read.
Judar No Oukan - Senichiya Ni Oborete
A sweet and fluffy style story where a crown prince comes to claim his daughter and the woman who left him heartbroken a year and a half ago. There are misunderstandings to overcome and seemingly insurmountable obstacles to manage. All can be achieved if there is honesty between this pair but that's the hard part. The story was an easy read and focused on the romance between the MCs. The baby was cute (though the fact she was born 10 months after leaving the prince was a bit of a worry lol) and the brothers who were introduced apparently have their own stories that will follow some of the extra issues with the cousin and the inheritance of the kingdom.
Merupuri
A cute story that was let down a little by the poor grammar of the translation, especially in the beginning. It often read like a foreigner was speaking English without modals, articles and with general confusion . It made it a bit of a slog to read and there were some downright odd translations (eg the ‘wandering Jew’ bit; wth was that about so randomly inserted towards the end). The story with FL Airi Hoshina and the Prince Aram was sweet because of his faithful and heartfelt love but when he got young it felt awkward (especially on the art page of the Royal family where Aram was 4yo looking exactly as he does in the story). Added to that, Airi was likeable, a touch klutzy and a total romantic who never gave up on her special guy. Overall, a story worth reading despite the translation woes.
