Ichika, bachika
Stories of friends to lovers, experimentation and acceptance amongst friends. I enjoyed all three couples covered in this manga, though the reuniting friends may have been my favourite because both MCs were so cute, the uke especially.
Chii-chan and Eno-kun
Well..that was certainly enthusiastic. Painfully enthusiastic
I'm Banging My Rival From A Parallel World!?
These short stories were fantastic! They had some beautiful connections between MCs and I especially enjoyed the fetishes and slightly perverted characters. Sen and Amatatsu from the parallel world story were probably my favourite couple. There was something about the alter Sen saying that he would love Amatatsu in any reality that made me melt. The voice fetish story with Yuuto falling for the pretty Kazusa with the starkly contrasting deep voice was sweet. What Kazusa considered to be a personal flaw that had caused him much embarrassment was to Yuuta, pure perfection. His joyous enthusiasm was endearing and how Kazusa trusted him was truly sweet. I loved the friend zone story with Akichika and Minoru because the friends happiness was put first. Again, both MCs were really likeable and their ending was really sweet. The final story was with fat fetishist Yoshiwara falling head over heels in lustfilled love at first sight with Karatachi whose pro wrestler bulk had some marshmallowy softness that pressed all of Yoshiwara’s buttons. Yoshiwara was a total stalker pervert for that soft body and stern face, he had Karatachi all flustered. This was the only story without a relationship forming, you could see the potential though because Yoshiwara is not likely to let Karatachi slip through his groping fingers.
Dorothy wa Gokigen Naname?
An interesting idea for a story but it was heavily let down by the ending. Dorothy was meant to grow as a witch but she stayed greedy and bossy all the way through. There were moments of something softer to her personality and she did make friends but it really wasn’t achieved by being friendly. There were also hints of Dorothy being abandoned when young which explained why she was so materialistic but it was really just flashes that were never explored and therefore it was harder to find her a sympathetic character. The tag on this is romance but there was nothing really romantic. Hints about something forming between Dorothy and Toto, but no kisses (except for power exchange where one did last a bit longer) and no words of love exchanged. That’s not romance. If you read this for a story where a witch gathers servants who become willing followers and matures into her powers but stays with an immature personality then this will suit you. Just don’t expect much from the ending. It left pretty much every plot line open.
Akage no Anne
Growing up, I have forever loved the Anne of Green Gable stories. I was amazed to see a manga adaptation and couldn’t resist. I think the artist has thoroughly respected the story and characters and delivered a wonderful interpretation of this old classic. Anne with her vivid imagination, hot temper and propensity for making mistakes was perfect.
King & Prince
I liked both couples. King and Prince were more intense, especially King in his driven pursuit to claim the one he loved, but the other story was a nice view on how complete opposites can be so right for each other.
