Otona-chan.
Adorably cute and child sized Otona wants to be taken seriously and treated as an adult. When the new trainee teacher arrives he instantly falls hard for the popular new sensei. His best friend Osanai is supportive but disapproving. What Otona needs is some one on one time with sensei. A fun and sweet story.
Otameshi Delivery Lover
Two interconnected stories, both of which were lots of fun and sweet. The first couple were Tamotsu (recently dumped after he caught his gf cheating) and the ikeman call boy/ delivery boy Asahi who was accidentally ordered by Tamotsu after a binge night of drinking to drown his sorrows. Most fluffy story with a host/ call boy I have read, Asahi was a cheerful type. The second story was an age gap with Harada from the restaurant in the first story and the spoiled, filterless millennial, Yuuma who barged into his nicely ordered world. At first, Yuuma was jarring in his selfishness but he blossomed under Harada’s care. Very sweet.
Please Call Me Red Panda
Supremely adorable slice of life with a young red panda and the tsundere boss who obviously adores him. It’s like adopting a child and providing everything you can for the little one, all while encouraging independence and being proud of their achievements. Pure fluff and comedy, zero romance, family friendly story.
Kino to Yano
Kinoshita is a handsome high school student who is a bit of an airhead. He has fallen in love with his cool classmate, Yano. Their story ticks all the boxes for cuteness, consent and communication. I love that their friends all know about them (thanks to Kino’s big mouth and tiny filter) and are supportive and that both MCs are focusing realistically on staying together beyond high school.
Vanilla Resort
A perfectly gentle slice of life. Shy and socially awkward Mutsu is a successful adult mangaka but so driven with work he neglects to look after himself. On one of his rare forays out, Mutsu bumps into his old basketball team senpai, Akiharu. Realising the gentle Akiharu was in search of a job, Mutsu eagerly offered a position as live in caretaker/housekeeper with one of the only people he feels comfortable with. The rest of the story is their evolving relationship and it’s so sweet. Akiharu is a born nurturer who is perfect for Mutsu, and Mutsu has loved him for longer than Akiharu could imagine. Sweet, fluffy but still very much a Yaoi, this has all the elements I love in a top manga.
Fuyou Kareshi
Cute main story and extra oneshots. I really liked the sweetness of the MCs; sometimes adorable and fluffy characters are just what you need.
Ashita kimi no mono ni shite
Sweet, sweet love between two adorable friends. Quiet and reserved, Yuki is not looking forward to changing classes for senior year. That is until he met the sociable and friendly Hayato, a popular student who showed an interest in being friends. With a smile that could light a room, Yuki blossomed under the attention of the increasingly fascinated Hayato. This lovely story follows their friendship to romance story with the little bumps and misunderstandings that pop up along the way. The mangaka has a talent with making this pair feel like they lived in a special world of their own and for all that this was most definitely yaoi, it had a wholesome and fluffy vibe going on. Definitely highly recommended.
Kimi to Deattekara Boku wa
A sensei x student story that respects the boundaries of student/ teacher relationships made for a really sweet story. Career counsellor Honda-san is a rumpled and kind but misjudged teacher who is asked to counsel 3rd year student, Endo. Lacking any clear goal, Endou had decided to simply enter the workforce, however time spent with Honda made him realise that the teacher most thought was standoffish and scary was actually gentle and interested in his students. I loved how honest Endo was and the way Honda tried to keep things respectable while they were in the student x teacher roles. Very sweet story.
Hajimemashite no Koi
Wealthy young master Arata Shino'oka, falls head over heels in love with Chihiro Kiritani on the rainy evening they first met. Seeking to get to know him better, Shino takes on a part time job at the quiet little tearoom where Chihiro works. Over the following months their friendship deepens and while others can see the growing love, the MCs need a little encouragement to say what they need to say. The story is cute and sweet with a rival thrown in to stir things up.
Fruit, Gateau au Chocolat
