Binan No Dendou
This apartment is full of different couples and the chapters flow smoothly between the couples while keeping the others frequently visible. It gave the story a warm friendship feeling that went really well with each romance.
Turning Point (yaoi)
I enjoyed this story, it was different to have such a pessimistic character as a MC. I wasn’t sure if I always liked him, he was prickly and insecure, however that vulnerability was also endearing. Contrastingly, Imamura was adorable and energetic. I loved his stubborn persistence and sweet caring nature.
Asanaga Fuugetsu, Shodouka Desu.
This is the manga of manipulative seme’s, with each one having a degree of ruthlessness or relentless pursuit that was surprisingly enjoyable. I liked the story of Oda the manager and the introverted, pessimistic calligrapher the most. Neither should have been as likeable as they were, but somehow they worked well together.
Burlesque Night
A good story about a bodyguard and burlesque dancer. The art was lovely (and uncensored) and the relationship between the MCs was strongly forged on putting forth the effort to nurture a new connection even over a long distance. There was some trauma from the past to deal with which was covered with sensitivity by the mangaka. I can see this being very popular and I did appreciate and enjoy it, but I didn’t really bond with the characters enough to say I love it.
Love Lesson (chidori peko)
A cute story set in the entertainment industry. Model and upcoming actor Ayami is offered some 1:1 special training for his upcoming movie. Experienced male lead Mineyuki has had a bit of a scandalous reputation in the past, but he had fallen for Ayami and offers him some lessons on romance on film. Lurking in the background as these 2 fall in love is the controlling studio and managers who keep their stars on a tight leash.
Backstage de Aimashou
A stoic style stage actor and the gentle model turned actor. A sweet story set in the world of actors and fans, these two become a strong pair. As always with this mangaka, the art was great too.
Wish You: Your Melody from My Heart
This was surprisingly romantic and sweet for something set in the entertainment industry and full of smexy scenes. Intern at a talent agency, Sangyi spots Kang Insoo busking on a busy street and is instantly captivated by the singers looks, voice and songs. Insoo is striving to break into the competitive world of music from the ground up and after Sangyi bumbles his way through meeting him, the two find that there is more than good looks and singing drawing them together. It’s not all smooth sailing but the determined pair face each challenge even though it seems that someone out there is determined to see Insoo fail. I liked this story. Would love to see a story following some key side characters next.
Oredakeno Senzoku Alpha
A beautiful Omegaverse story from an author who understands that Alpha does not equal asshole. Masatsugu Otonashi is the alluring and world renowned omega model that shines on any billboard. But he hates alphas with a cold merciless disdain. Mei Todoroki is the alpha newly assigned to be Masatsugu’s assistant. Despite being subjected to the omega’s unreasonable demands, Mei is brightly enthusiastic and gives his all to flawlessly doing his job and his gentle trustworthiness even has him eventually befriending Masatsugu. I loved the dynamic between the vulnerable omega and the protective alpha. Definitely a read again story.
Make It Only Love
Story is completed. -Nakamura Oto (uke) college student and model. Sweet, pretty, lacking a little confidence when it comes to modelling. A fan of Ryou. -Ryou (seme) artist turned makeup artist with his own line of products. Focused, driven, bit of a ‘tortured artist’ type. When these 2 start working together promoting Ryou’s artistry and products, Oto is determined to be the model he always dreamed of to make Ryou’s work shine. And along the way, respect and admiration turns into something deeper.
