Atatamete Kureru Hito.
A shop assistant/chef in training and a newly divorced beautician become friends. This story follows their emerging feelings of love for each other with sweet simplicity. It’s a feel good, heartwarming story with 2 very likeable MCs.
Kirakira-kun to Imaichi-kun
Very cute story. Newcomer to the store, Ryo has a definite type he falls for, and the straight senpai Hoya is intrigued enough to agree to dating his Ikeman junior. A lot of comments here seem hung up on Ryo’s previous partner, but I felt he wasn’t necessary to the romance between the two MCs at all. He simply fulfilled a role of establishing Ryo as a young man who accepts his sexual orientation but who has some insecurities that may hinder his new romance. Hoya was someone whose self esteem had been hard hit by not getting his career started after graduation. I liked his honesty with himself over his selfish motivations and how he began to take charge over his future again. That smug smirk when Ryo had eyes only for him was great, a totally relatable moment of selfish happiness to be the one desired by the person everyone wants.
Tsumaranai Ninomiya-san
*Because I’m Your Senior: Gloomy-looking high school student Takama and new employee at the store, the lively college student Senba. Opposites attract but sometimes saying the wrong thing can set you apart. *Boring Ninomiya: Cram school teacher Ninomiya, has just been dumped again for being boring. A night out drowning his sorrows leads to a one night stand with the flirtatious Sada, and a chance to step into some excitement and perhaps even love. *Rooftop Heaven: For Gino Sasahara, being born with two sets of ears is a torment. His cat ears are normal, but on the side of his head he has “monkey” ears that are deaf except to ghostly voices. Being different made him a target for endless bullying. One day as he ran from his bullies, Gino found a ghost who was just as beaten as he was. A solid ghost. With only monkey ears! Nakano Kouji thought that he had run into a cosplayer when he stumbled upon the boy with cat ears and a tail. But for both boys, something had bought them together from separate universes. And for all their differences, their connection of being abused for years is like a magnet of comfort and understanding. Their story was bittersweet and I would have loved for the mangaka to have been able to devote a full series on their story. The ending was lovely but I wanted their journey.
You Control Me
Completed story This may have been 10 chapters but 2 were a repeat and they were all quite short so this was a quick read. It was a little too fast paced, and Sudo’s trauma was not really dark or weird enough to have triggered such a severe reaction to food. I really enjoyed the yandere elements but would have appreciated seeing that drawn out a little more to really give that element a chance to shine. It made for a good twist though. Overall, entertaining but not great.
