Homemade Vampire
A great little oneshot of a nephew x uncle vampire romance. Definitely one to reread
Ai x Yajuu
Probably my favourite by this mangaka so far. A loving and sweet FL who is naive but in for the sexy times with her ML. A ML who adores his partner and looks adorable in his wolf form. A nice plot with interesting characters and lore. Oh and kids and hints of the EA part of a HEA. Glad Lewis got his someone special too.
The Maid and the Vampire
Areum has fallen into a strange world called 'Soltera' after a car accident. She is mistaken for a vampire because of her dark hair color, and she is subsequently sold to a Duke’s house by a slave trader. The Duke who bought her is Millard Travis, her soon to be master and the sole vampire in the world! Their story progresses from there; the frightened and displaced Areum, slave, and the ruthless and solitary Duke, vampire master. I liked their dynamic. Millard had never experienced genuine affection (either giving or receiving) and his reactions were often over the top yet sweet as can be as he fell for a human. And Areum was understanding of his ruthless side (showing her own dangerous side when needed) but mostly sweetly loving, with a desire to live life to the utmost. Who could help but to like her?!
Dine With a Vampire
I didn’t read any comments before delving into this story so it was all delightfully unspoiled. The characters were all great, from Sooin with his tragic history or Chi-hwan who finally found someone to bring happiness into his life. I appreciate that there was a good amount of violence in vengeance, it would have not been as good if things were forgiven and forgotten. Even though it’s marked completed, it feels like there may be some more side stories, but either way this was a good read.
A story about a yakuza who picked up a Vampire
Sore wa Tabetewa Ikemasen
A nice bunch of short stories. My one critique would be that at times the mangaka leaped forward in the stories a bit too much, like there was assumed knowledge but they hadn’t shared it. The older brother x werewolf was like that and sadly it was difficult to like. The cowardly vamp was cute and I liked the sensei x student. All worth a read though.
Nightmare Catalog
Despite being marked as shounen-ai there was no romance or feelings of that in this story. The vampire and his doll were obviously close in a verbally combative way, and they needed each other (one for life, the other to avoid loneliness) but there was no spark or chemistry there. More a close bond of master and sadistic doll. The story had the vampire visiting many spirits and magical creatures. It was interesting seeing the different Gods, spirits, and magical beings. Entertaining, beautiful art, a little dark, and overall a good read.
Eien no Yoru no Hate
Hard working salaryman Atsush sometimes struggles with the demands of single parenting. So when he finds his son in the park at night with a strange man, he could be forgiven for lashing out in anger. Once he was told the truth of the circumstances and realised Hiiro was his neighbour, he went out of his way to apologise with the beautiful young man. What he never expected was to find out that Hiiro was a vampire. Nor did he expect to fall in love with his elusive and lonely neighbor.
Folklore no Gochisou
It’s a cute story but I would have liked more relationship development between these mismatched lovers. Shion has a past as a vampire that would seem at odds with him being poor, jobless and hooking up with random people for blood. Satou Shinobu’s a very sweet pushover who adores kids. Their connection was based on blood and sex which seemed greatly at odds for Satouks character. Still, the story was good overall and I do love a vampire romance.
