This isn’t the kind of story that you want to reveal too much of and spoil. The fact that my pillow was drenched in tears shouldn’t be off putting simply because the story was so beautiful. Satoshi and Shizu were complex, well contrived characters that were totally endearing. The art was so well done too. Give it a read.

A wonderfully erotic romance with a supernatural twist. Thirtyish Arata is a café owner whose extra large dick is too much for any woman to handle. When he meets starving university student Shinya, he is stunned to learn that the food he needs is not something from the cafe, but from Arata himself. These two indulge in lots and lots of sex with plenty of oral, toys, dirty talk, flirting and even an observer. But their world revolves around each other. They become a sweet, loving couple with a more than healthy sex life who aren’t afraid of a PDA or two. Really a nice mix of sweet n spicy content.

Two cute stories: Anti-Platonic: Gregarious playboy Ryoya is a bit of a man whore. Bisexual, he has had his fair share of casual partners, but his current male fuck buddy is causing his heart to flutter. The emotionless Io is Ryoya’s roommate and person of interest. He enjoys the scent of Ryoya and the sex but is he interested in more? A Totally Lovesick Demon: Fox demon Shiranui avoids humans. Since his last sojourn into the human world ended in betrayal he has stayed alone in his forest, forbidden to enter by humans. 18yo Rintarou entered the forbidden forest in search of food for his sick mother. The vibrantly energetic young man was initially terrified when he encountered the demon, but it didn’t take long for his soft heart to open towards the lonely Shiranui. But what happens when a demon exorcist is called to banish Shiranui?

A very sweet story with Okiya, a man whose ability to see auras helps him in life and the inscrutable Koga, painfully honest and surprisingly sweet. What I liked about this story was the wooing; dating and getting to know each other and abstaining from sex until there was mutual love. Having just read a distressing story full of rape and a truly toxic man, this was quietly beautiful. Consent and caring for each other is beautiful, this story was beautiful.

Story is finished. A second chance to get things right. When Yamamoto reunites with Minowa at a reunion, he has a few too many drinks and confesses his old feelings. If only they knew then the truth of their feelings, how different things may be now.

Trigger Warning: Rape (not seme MC) The story of a remarkable orphan boy with ruby red eyes who grew to adulthood with a unique ability; to not die. Noah ended up being approached by a CEO of a mob business to be his bullet shield only once Allen Lewton realised that his new employee felt pain, he changed. Soon the ruthless CEO showed his determination to make Noah fall for him because he was head over heels in love with the red eyed Noah. The story was interesting and the mystery around Noah’s forgotten past was intriguing. Certainly Noah was a very likeable character and had a truly kind heart and I appreciated how protective Allen was of him (sadly not protective enough with respect to a certain someone ).

An adorably fluffy high school BL with the serious senior Do-kwon, and the popular school prince, Ryeo-soo. Do-kwon is senior class President with a reputation for excellent grades. But he has a secret weakness for good looking people. When he has to deliver something to the most beautiful boy in school, Do-kwon’s efforts to appear unruffled were ruined by his determinably set face and stern demeanour. Those and his ecstatic thoughts that were in a whirlwind of delight at being so close to Ryeo-soo. Ecstatic thoughts that. Ryeo-soo could read and which amused and intrigued him enough to pursue a friendship with Do-kwon. So begins a feel good romance between these guys that was really entertaining.

*Because I’m Your Senior: Gloomy-looking high school student Takama and new employee at the store, the lively college student Senba. Opposites attract but sometimes saying the wrong thing can set you apart. *Boring Ninomiya: Cram school teacher Ninomiya, has just been dumped again for being boring. A night out drowning his sorrows leads to a one night stand with the flirtatious Sada, and a chance to step into some excitement and perhaps even love. *Rooftop Heaven: For Gino Sasahara, being born with two sets of ears is a torment. His cat ears are normal, but on the side of his head he has “monkey” ears that are deaf except to ghostly voices. Being different made him a target for endless bullying. One day as he ran from his bullies, Gino found a ghost who was just as beaten as he was. A solid ghost. With only monkey ears! Nakano Kouji thought that he had run into a cosplayer when he stumbled upon the boy with cat ears and a tail. But for both boys, something had bought them together from separate universes. And for all their differences, their connection of being abused for years is like a magnet of comfort and understanding. Their story was bittersweet and I would have loved for the mangaka to have been able to devote a full series on their story. The ending was lovely but I wanted their journey.

Trigger Warning: Rape A rather confusing horror story that comes together to make sense only in the final chapter. Teacher Hizuki Reiji is thrust into the middle of a mystery when he moves to another town for a substitute teaching position. There is the missing teacher, cold presences, possessed trees and wrapped body parts. And then there is problem child Magaki Kyoichi, a sleepy troublemaker with a temper and a penchant for raping Reiji. The ending made sense of the warped reality that Reiji found himself in, but it was a little disappointing that it was more mundane than supernatural. Still, an interesting reading.

These were mostly good stories with masculine guys and a fair smattering of dub con/ just barely consented. It feels more like bara than yaoi, love did not feature as heavily as moving straight to sex and sexual domination did. Still, there was plenty of variety, with the werewolf one being my personal favourite.
