Gitei ni Himitsu ga Arimashite
20yo ex delinquent and runaway Shogo, is now a responsible young adult who works to support his mom and little twin sisters. He still has some rough edges, so when his mom said she wanted to get married his initial reaction was to fantasise about beating up her new man. But wait until he meets the son, his soon to be step brother Haruya, who turns out to be an obnoxious high school student in dire need of a whack upside the head. But there is more to the angry teen than meets the eye. He has a secret, one that will change Shogo’s life when he finds out. I liked the story, despite Haruya being a total dick at times. It made sense for his character to be an angry, angst ridden teen and Shogo’s mix of cheerfulness, strength and love for his family made him a good counterpart for Haruya.
Hidamari Starlight
Very sweet relationship between 2 step siblings whose world revolves around each other. It’s a trope but the little spins in their dynamic made it special. Both guys were kind hearted, gentle, and treasured the other. The new guy on the side was not there to cause trouble or make this a triangle. It really was just a sweet story about accepting a new dimension in a strong, healthy relationship.
Haven
Step brothers who become each others only family, Minseong changed his delinquent ways to become someone better for the new little brother in his care from the moment they met. Now at age 26, Minseong is a food stylist at a cafe and Jian, now 23, is a student and model. Minseong dotes on Jian, but Jian has developed an obsession for his hyung that has Minseong reevaluating their relationship (not an easy task as Jian has him wrapped around his pinky finger). Especially when 2 figures from his past turn up and resurface uncomfortable past memories.
