Mofuku no Hanayome
A well written story of a young man trapped by circumstance. When Yukito’s mother died he was left in the care of his author step father. A man twisted enough to sexually abuse and control his son for years. Yukito grows to become protective of his abuser, even having sex with other men and using his body to manipulate them in order to keep his step father safe. That is until he meets a taxi driver who sees too much and who won’t be manipulated. If ever anyone deserves someone to value and respect them it’s Yukito and oddly enough it’s this near stranger who knows too much but who hides his own true self. This was not a happy story, but it does have a lovely HEA and a healthy love that flourishes at the end.
Hanazono No Kioku
A really great story that has some dark underlying themes. Yuu is a novelist who is drawn into a world with Chris that is unsettling and unpredictable yet also something he strangely craves. Those adjectives fall short of the horrors of Chris’ childhood but his love for Yuu is all to real and consuming. Can these two be together?
Endless World
A very well told story that takes you into the lives of 3 broken guys. The depiction of drug use was dark and isolating and there was an overlaying sadness to the story that was inescapable. Read this if you want something special and different.
Hydrangea Cage
Trigger warning: Rape An Omegaverse story with an entitled alpha, Amamiya Ujou and an abandoned omega, Yohira. The alpha in this story starts out as seriously unlikeable. He rapes the child omega (not sure of his age but he looks like a kid and apparently hasn’t passed through puberty) and treats him like an object/ part of his right to own property. But over time Yohira sneaks into his heart though it will take something drastic for Ujou to face that reality. His character growth is huge and the story has a nice HEA.
Knife (CHIBA Ryouko)
I enjoyed the story, it covered a lot of ground in 5 chapters with the murder mystery and the budding romance between the job focused (for sure somewhere on the autism spectrum) and blunt spoken Tsutsumi and the PTSD suffering, masochistic Sakuma. The artwork was beautiful too. Both Tsutsumi and Sakuma really looked like detectives in their suits and I liked the haggard look of Sakuma when he was struggling.

Black Diamond
Yuu is a ruthless young businessman with a tragic family history. His secretary Asa has known him from childhood, always loyal, always by his side. Their story was difficult because Yuu was such a damaged and unlikeable man, but Asa knew him well and treasured him. It took a real shake up in Yuu’s world to be vulnerable enough to even want to love another. Luckily for him he has a patient and loving partner.
Adam no Rokkotsu
Yuuma (26yo)is an easy going guy who works at an amusement park known as "Dream Park". His home is in the staff dorms and when his new roommate, the gentle Shikiori Kazuha (26yo) moves in his normal, peace filled days are about to become a lot more crazy. Especially when he meets Shikiori Rei (26yo), his arrogant and possessive new roommate. I loved this story. The art, the wonderful characters, working with such a challenging topic within the confines and restraints of a BL manga. A standout story that ticks all my boxes.
