Yajuu De Hatsukoi
Yamato Nase is a talented artist. I loved all these stories, though the first was my favourite. It was a rare one where the uke didn't look super young (he was around 29 after all) and he was beautifully drawn. I also really liked the driven intensity of the younger seme and his passion fueled loss of self control was hot to read.
Hanon
The first story was the best of the bunch with the piano rivals falling for each other. Then moving into the shotacon with his little brother was less enjoyable, and the rapist playwright was the worst by far. Should have made that one suffer. The difficulty with shota is that you know the kind of adults who chase pre teens are creepy loser pedos so even when well drawn, its just cringeworthy.
Magical Travel Boy
I enjoyed the story of the two otaku, there was no power imbalance or huge age gap to make things disturbing. The last story is another matter, from the public rape to later being ok with the rapist. Life isn't that naively simple for victims of sexual assault, especially when you're young. These kind of stories are ones I hate, even more so when the reconciliation is so darned easy.
Hatsujou Eyes
Interesting stories, definitely worth a read even with the older art style which I enjoyed more and more as I kept reading. The first one had a lot of emotional intensity conveyed through the characters eyes. I also liked the touch of dirty talk from the seme and how well it worked with his lover. The second story is worth a mention coz it was wrong on so many levels that I couldn't take it seriously and found it oddly entertaining. Those poor, misguidedly proud parents and that precocious younger brother!
Yukidoke no Koi
I would give the first story of Someya and Takada 5 stars if it was in a solo book. It was a beautifully drawn story with sweet characters I loved. I wasn't interested in the second story and totally avoided the third since I don't read for tragic experiences but to escape them.
Ichiban Chikaku De Koi O Suru
I liked this, in part because the younger brother intended to remove himself from his sibling to protect him (and himself) from his feelings. I thought he owned all his kinks with joy and even pride which made me laugh. But, I think it was his horrible former life and the raw vulnerability beneath his actions that added a poignant touch that was bittersweet when he seemed to feel so undeserving of love.
Ai Wa Chitto Mo Rakuja Nai
The second story was more enjoyable, probably because there was a more obvious connection between the teo.
17 Guyz
Worth a read, its always good to keep the older stories circulating. It just lacked emotional connection for me.
Mizu No Kioku
Light, pleasant; an easy read but nothing really to get excited about.
