Trigger warning: Dubious consent Kindergarten sensei Ao was a rare breed, 10% omega and 90% beta. He lives as a full beta in the community with the help of suppressants and values his independence, especially when he compares his lifestyle to his twin omega siblings mated pairing with an alpha. When Ao met the homeless Reiji on the way home one evening, he was surprised that an alpha can be such a drifter. But Reiji was alpha enough to scent the omega in Ao, and he wilfully sexually dominated the omega, to the point that Ao’s omega traits strengthened and he demanded more from the alpha. The rest of the story was about the MCs falling in love. Reiji has to learn to not take Ao for granted and to value him for all his traits, and Ao needed to accept his own heart and true nature. I think the story would have benefited from extra chapters, but I liked that Ao kicked Reiji to the curb for not respecting the parts of his life he valued. A strong omega is something I really enjoy. Also, beautiful artwork!

Abandoned by his mother, Souma comes to live with his aunt and uncle and is a companion for his sickly cousin Sakuya. 12 years later and Souma decides to leave when he graduates and get a job. His surprised cousin rebels against the idea. No longer sickly, he pushes Souma down, forcefully taking him and revealing the truth of his love for his older cousin. Things won’t be easy for this pair, but they are very much in love and willing to do what needs to be done in order to be together.

Cute little monster indeed! Haruto has been best friends with the serious faced delinquent Daichi, since they were little. Pretty as any girl, the OTT little dynamo is very possessive of Daichi and keeps him firmly away from any potential girlfriends. When one of their friends say that Haruto should be a girl he decides to run with that idea and forcefully dominates the taller boy into sexual submission whilst wearing a skirt. With lots of dirty talk, some naughty role play, and relentless positivity, Haruto gets his lifelong love to wake up to accepting that he not only needs his little monster, but that he loves the one who has always been at his side.

An interesting Josei take on the Little Mermaid fable. I personally found Lotte a little too much at first. A little too irritating, a little too much the victim, a little too forgiving etc. But she and her prince weather every storm that comes their way to find their HEA which was nice. Very happy Deo got his mermaid too, he was too likeable to not have his own special person.

Trigger Warning: Dubious consent Story 1 with the sliced up and self centred host and the muscled bodyguard who wanted to be at his side was rather messed up. Apple wasn’t very likeable and the bodyguard’s actions during the attack made him rather awful too. Though they ended up being good with each other, their relationship left a bit of an unpleasant taste. Story 2 with the call boy forcing the straight host was not one for me. The call boy was seriously unlikeable and there was no caring between the guys. It was simply a smut story. Story 3 with the 40yo divorced programmer and his housekeeper (young enough to be his son) was the story that I liked. They shared a loneliness and attraction that was much more romantic and each filled unmet needs in the other. I would happily reread this one.

Spoiled son of a business CEO, college student Tatsuki is a hotheaded rich kid tired of sleeping around with girls. After his friends suggest he try a guy he sets his sights on Miyako Hirota and finds himself drawn into the web of a high functioning sociopath. Lots of twists and some mind games in this story. Miyako is not very loveable, but he is absolutely obsessed with Tatsuki in ways he himself finds disconcerting. I liked that Tatsuki was no easy pushover but at the same time he got swept along in the madness. Definitely an interesting romance, in a dark, ‘are you sure about this?’ kind of way.

Trigger Warning: Dubious consent Himari has loved her tutor Akito since he first helped her at school. They started going out when she graduated but haven’t moved beyond kissing. Himari is desperate to become a ‘true couple’ but Akito doesn’t think she is ready. That’s something her cat Leon disagrees with, as he clearly demonstrates after morphing into human form. This story is really just some light smut with way too much dubious consent to be romantic. Personally, I found Akito to be a bit of a bastard. Choose the cat.

Once high school best friends, Shino and Kazuto now work as detectives for the island country Sakura. Shino works in the city branch, and much to his annoyance, Kazuto works the regional office. A new case has them working together, much to Shino’s dismay and Kazuto’s delight. You see, Kazuto is crazily obsessed with Shino. The yandere detective is dangerous to any who would stand in his way with Shino, and even to some degree, towards Shino himself. Enjoy this story with full understanding that this possessive and obsessed lover would kill anyone who tried to take Shino away from him. And Shino? He just can’t quite push Kazuto away..

20yo ex delinquent and runaway Shogo, is now a responsible young adult who works to support his mom and little twin sisters. He still has some rough edges, so when his mom said she wanted to get married his initial reaction was to fantasise about beating up her new man. But wait until he meets the son, his soon to be step brother Haruya, who turns out to be an obnoxious high school student in dire need of a whack upside the head. But there is more to the angry teen than meets the eye. He has a secret, one that will change Shogo’s life when he finds out. I liked the story, despite Haruya being a total dick at times. It made sense for his character to be an angry, angst ridden teen and Shogo’s mix of cheerfulness, strength and love for his family made him a good counterpart for Haruya.
