Koh-Boku
This was an interesting story. Set in the world of civil servants in the bureaucracy of government, working for the betterment of Japan, we got to read about the heavy demands of the job and workaholism on the MCs and their relationship. Kashiwagi studied law at Tokyo Uni and moved straight into bureaucracy roles. Serious and thorough, he is mentored by Imamaya-san (Section manager of the Policy Division of the Economic and Policy Bureau) and over the years also becomes the protective nurturer of the quirky boss who forgets to eat, drink and sleep when busy (aka always). In the story we follow the cost of a job where you may get 3 hours of sleep a night in terms of relationships (Imamiya-san divorced x 3, father of 1 and Kashiwagi divorced x 1) and health as Imamiya collapses from a heart attack at work. How can the MCs have a romance in all this? The confronting illness and caring by Kashiwagi are the impetus needed to get these two bone heads to turn to each other. Their romance is sweetly “them” because the caring they have towards each other has been evident for ages, but now they show their vulnerability more and Ofc skinship, kissing, sex etc. I have never read a story quite like this, where almost all the MCs identity was tied to work. It was confronting yet charming, and worth your time if you like something different.
Senpai, Danjite Koidewa!
A very cute story about CG artists in a mentor & trainee role. Kanade has had a serious case of hero worship for Yanase-san since he was young. That fascination led him to the same industry and organisation as Yanase and his serious face and sense of awe were mistaken for someone who doesn’t like his mentor. However, the honest Kanade shares his feelings after drinking at a work party and soon the two start dating. I enjoyed the story and art, the characters were interesting, overall a good story.
Omega wa Pink no Yume wo Miru
This Omegaverse story started with a selfish alpha boss (Chief Utsumi) who wanted his untouchable omega secretary to fall for him and become his lover. Purchasing a secret potion designed to make an omega fall in love with an alpha, Utsumi spiked the drink (albeit with a twinge of conscience) and waited for the opportune moment. However, in a quirk of fate and right in front of his eyes, the spiked bottle was consumed by the plain and taciturn beta Suzuki. Disappointed, Utsumi was resigned to missing his opportunity (as the potion only worked on omegas), at least until he noticed an irresistible scent as he entered the showers.. From there, Utsumi is on the roller coaster of guilt and attraction as he starts to fall for the wary Suzuki; a man who has already been terribly mistreated by alphas in the past. I enjoyed watching Utsumi gain understanding for just how much of a scum he had been as he became twisted around Suzuki’s little finger. He needed to be a man of principal and protect his partner as well as being loving and reliable to have Suzuki even consider becoming mates. I loved the way Suzuki didn’t just roll over for Utsumi after sex and sorries and I thought their love was really sweet. It’s always great to see a selfish MC grow in character to be a better person. It made for believable romance.
Unmei no Tsugai ga Omae da Nante
Salarymen Shishikura and Kotani have been bitter rivals since middle school. Well..at least Kotani has since the loud and excitable Shishikura had forgotten all about it. But, rivalry renewed, an early heat had Shishikura looking toward Kotani with hopeful, heated eyes. Even in bed, these guys are making demands and bossing each other. Only, now they are moving to being rivals who are astoundingly compatible. And it seems no matter how much they try to avoid and antagonise each other, they end up being thrown together and back between the sheets. It’s going to take some time for these two to realise the many things they admire about each other, that they may be more than rivals.
A Tough Alpha Wants to Be Loved -Cornered by a Young Omega-
Short n sweet, fast paced, and a whole lot of sexy fun. Serious faced Ikeya (alpha) is the boss at work and an exclusive bottom in the bedroom. Or at least he would be if he ever found a lover. New office trainee Yuuhei is a delicate looking omega with the drive and dedication to work hard and succeed. Distrusting of his new alpha boss, he nonetheless works hard and even puts in overtime. Which leaves him with his boss alone in the office when his heat hits. And we all know what happens to an omega when they are stranded with an alpha when their heat hits... Well...you’re wrong! Read this and find out. The only thing it needs to score better is more chapters.
Sore Demo Suki Desu Kasahara-san
A very cute little story with an alpha seme (Akiyama) who breaks the usual moulds on Omegaverse. He shares the downside of heavy expectations that go along with being an alpha and the lack of appreciation for the effort and hard work he put into his work. Then there is the omega Kasahara, who moves through life cheerfully but who is weighed down by the pain his mother feels for him being omega. Both alpha and omega help each other and have a sweet romance.
Niito-kun wa, Sekanshirazu.
Short, fluffy love at first sight for an alpha who spots a reclusive omega.
Sensei no Sensei
It takes a shounen-ai to give a wholesome Omegaverse story full of kind and friendly people and a little town that looks perfect. This sweet story had alpha Ooji-sensei in his first teaching job working with grade 1 students. He runs into the guidance counsellor Yasumi-sensei, a gentle beta whom he had fallen in love with as a student at school himself. At that time, Yasumi had gently refused the confession and so in the present day Ooji had some residual embarrassment. But as these 2 renewed their acquaintance on an equal footing as adults they fall for each other. There is no angst or unnecessary drama; simply a happy love story full of good feelings.
The Mating Season
For all the wild sex, that was still quite wholesome. I would have liked to see them move back in together or just have a few romantic moments at the end, but despite that it was a good read.
