Samejima-kun to Sasahara-kun
These guys were so adorably feisty yet clueless. They really filled their progression from friends to lovers with chaos and angst, tempered with affection and a willingness to value each other. Two steps forward, one step back. But they made it and it was lots of fun to be cheering them on.
Chiya's Just an Unstable Guy
Opposites attract with the cheerful Kei and insecure Chiya. An established couple when the story starts, it doesn’t take long to realize Chiya is deeply in love with his bubbly seme, but is only comfortable expressing a gruff, even negative aspect balanced by loads of blushing. He is rather adorably awkward as he struggles to say the three magic words, “I love you” but ends up self sabotaging over and over. This story is adorable because we see Chiya’s self recriminations when he gets things wrong and how very much he wants to make his lover happy. It’s also adorable because Kei is the most loveable, positive and caring man; the sort many of us secretly wish for who can see through our BS and love who we really are. He is frothy and shining and sweet, but in bed he is dominant and sexy and alpha. What a great combo!
Ippou Sonokoro
This was a ton of silly, smutty fun with members of an Evil Corporation battling magical little girls while trying to meet their daily quotas. The 2 MCs were adorable. The creative Akaya with his obsession for his touch sensitive section boss Kuro were a fun pair with their special collection rooms and tentacles. The secondary characters were also fun, yet disturbingly twisted. A recommended read.
Almond o Nanatsubu
This was a well written story, executed very cleverly by the mangaka. Watanabe and Hazuki’s story did not go in a direction I anticipated, given that I didn’t read the reader reviews. Warning: my review will have spoilers. Hazuki: At the start he was difficult to like as he was a bit of an Ebenezer Scrooge; not in denying Christmas but his surly attitude towards lovers and happy people. But his character slowly gets defined as we see snippets of him being helpful and hard working and honest. And lonely. His ‘bah humbag’ ways become relatable as he becomes close to Watanabe and the reader finds out he has always been gay but believed he would never find happiness or a loving partner. Watanabe is the opposite of Hazuki. Tall, good looking, seemingly popular, he started working at the same time as Hazuki and has now been transferred to the same department. This beautiful man slowly romances Hazuki and they enter into a committed relationship that lasts over a year. He is the seme who has an apparent glasses fetish, preferring his partner wear them even in bed. In their year as a couple, the MCs seem increasingly close . Until we see a hint of Watanabe’s secret. At that time I flipped back pages wondering if I missed something. Surely Watanabe wasn’t having sex with other men?! Wth did I skip? Alas, it isn’t too long until Hazuki overhears a conversation that makes him realise he has been horribly manipulated and used by Watanabe as a substitute for a lost (glasses wearing) love. Hearing the extent of the lies, realising Watanabe was sleeping with others absolutely crushed Hazuki. There was a confrontation where Hazuki let Watanabe know (in no uncertain terms) that he was absolute scum for treating him (who did nothing wrong) so cruelly. My respect for Hazuki was 100/10, I loved how he handled himself through the breakup as his heart shattered. My loathing for Watanabe was also 100/10. I loved that the mangaka wrote Hazuki so strong, even to the point he wasn’t spiteful at work but professional (and a little broken..so sad). I loved that over a year passed as Watanabe hit rock bottom and realised what he lost and had to face his loathesome self for some hard truths. To be honest, I would have been fine leaving the story with Watanabe trying to get Hazuki back and confessing while Hazuki said thanks...and then went soaring off with a new seme who treated him with value, love and respect. It took time, but these two do end up together. I can sort of be ok with that because of how long it took for that to happen, but personally I would have kept the relationship professional. So, final thoughts, this was well written, it tugged at my emotions but I would prefer no getting back together. Hazuki was a good guy, Watanabe was (and remains IMO) a douchebag ヾ(`ヘ´)ノ゙
Omune-chan no Sainan
A hot, sexy romp with boob fetish and loads of nipple play. This story works well in the realms of erotic fantasy because there is dub con and no prep which some may find jarring, but it’s packed with intensity and fetish and the move to a relationship so it’s really quite appealing overall.
24 Jikan Ochi nai Kiss
Good storyline with some very nice artwork. Demanding section boss, older, straight, player gets topped by his quiet designer after an after work party. Dub con start with love following. MCs are total opposites re their personalities but they make a good match as they deal with becoming partners who work together in an office full of interested gossips. A fun, entertaining story.
Suki Na Hito Hodo
Not the most likeable characters but interesting stories. A little too much focus on the rapist cross dresser in the first story for my liking, and the second was rape with a minor. The twist gave it some redemption but it was still not my kind of preference to read. Interesting to see sounding play but it was forced so it was overall a disappointment.
Suit o Nuidara
Both these stories were cute and themed around salarymen in suits. The seme’s were the ones who fell for the uke first and pursued them patiently. I liked their kindness and the hints of possessiveness shown.
Romantic Pornography
With Ritsu and Mizuki, their romance is all about love language. Ritsu equates love with sex and Mizuki with treating his partner with kindness. There are some hilarious moments of adjustment as they master the new language of their partner. From thin walls to all nighters, this short story was hot and hilarious.
