Assassins, healers and redemption. Such a surprisingly sweet couple.

You don’t get the opportunity to enjoy characters like this very often, so be sure to give yourself time to savour these wonderfully dark, twisted men who seem perfect for each other.

Fantastic story with some darker themes as these guys were assassins. There was an emptiness in their world that the author captured perfectly, and that made their eventual love feel all the sweeter.

Call boy assassin and hero style detective. An unexpectedly good pairing in this story and both MCs were well written. I found this an interesting read, but not a feel good one.

University student Kanata is more than he seems. The wide eyed ingenue was actually a merciless hitman known as the Black Swan, with a reputation for efficiency and a penchant for blades. His newest target is Alex, a mafiaso with an angels face who has just inherited the role of boss of his syndicate. He should be another simple target, especially as he appears to have fallen in love with Kanata at first sight. But it soon becomes clear that Alex isn’t as predictable as he appears, and Kanata may be the one in danger of falling for a target. This story had beautiful art to go with an exciting and often surprising plot. Both characters were originals and strong; they may choose to bend but neither will be broken and I loved their balanced power dynamic.

An interesting story featuring a retired assassin now corporate businessman and the mysterious woman from his past. When Raiden recognised Scarlett as the woman he had fallen for 5 years ago he was stunned. She looked different in every way except for her eyes. Bitter and yet drawn to the blackmailing beauty despite himself, Raiden proposes a temporary affair. No emotions, no ties, just sex with him until he marries; for a price of course. Yet it's impossible for either Raiden or Scarlett to be emotionless when for each of them, the other is the only one they can love. Don't be held back by this being a oneshot, it's satisfyingly lengthy and the story has interesting twists and turns as more is revealed about each of the MC's and their dark past.

An interesting story about Yakuza members Odajima and Kataoka and the inheritance of the group when the boss dies. There is a casual approach to sex and murder that suits the story and gave it some dark edges. Something that didn’t work as well for me was the transition into the recent and distant past then back to the present. I found it a bit confusing who knew who and when, who was actually in the past (because some characters looked the same as different ones and the characters who were the same looked different- confusing I know). The little twist at the end was well done.
