Not isekai. After her mom left her biological father for financial reasons, she takes FL and runs away. Over the years her mom gains multiple partners but each one of her husbands ends up dying somehow. From a mercenary, to a knight, to a baron, to a duke. FL’s mom is incredibly selfish, she is hedonistic in a way where she wants the best for herself, even though she takes her daughter along, it is pretty clear that if FL does not make her happy she would most probably leave her behind. For that reason, FL knows it well and has always played along to her mother’s wishes. In her mother’s most recently failed marriage, her mother has become Duchess, but in an unfortunate accident during an outing with the Duke, their carriage crashed and they both died. FL is now left alone with her stepbrother, whom she just got introduced to a month ago. Stepbrother is ML of course, who seems to have an attachment to FL that would signify feelings of more than just stepsiblings. On the night of the funeral, FL tries to leave quietly but her stepbrother stops her and convinces her to stay for three years until he is of age, an adult, to take over the household. Little does FL know, ML has no intentions of ever letting her leave.

Okay so idk how to rate this cause I’m still processing the short but fucking intense 3 chapters. Wtf just happened? Bruh.
