The virus started to mutate this rendering the vaccine useless and the world was declared for a state of emergency. As nations fell they banded together in over to stop the spread of the vaccine, creating what is the main setting of the story in Seoul Korea which was a city mainly controlled by the government split into seven sections to meamsure the zombie or “Adam” rate, with green being the safest and red being the most dangerous as well as military bases to to train and raise soldiers and hiring researchers in order to develop newer vaccines, but the problem was that the virus kept mutating and have already mutated 7 times rendering all the vaccines useless and the story goes from there. The only place unaffected by the virus was JeJu Island which is where the protagonist, Dr.SeokHwa, came from. A 34 year old poker faced genius researcher with a weak body that isn’t strong enough to even run, and had a strong obsession with rocks (reason will be revealed later) who once had been to rainbow city with his mentor but had returned back to JeJu Island to live a peaceful life was now needed to research the new variant. So the city sent soldier “Major Kwak SuHwan” to get him off the Island as well as the job of being the doctor’s personal bodyguard because Major Kwak Suhwan, being the strongest man in Rainbow city, barged into the red zone late at night without warning and caused a shit ton of chaos, massacring Adams just to fuel his alcohol addiction and was now given 2 options. 1. Get Dr.Seok off JeJu island and be his guard or 2. Go to the guardhouse which was basically a detention center for soldiers. Major Kwak, having the most fuckboy personality and was still reluctant to do it, manages to convince Dr.Seok to go back. However, he soon figures out the reason. Dr.Seok’s old mentor had been murdered in the base. With that, Dr.Seok starts to research the death of his mentor and starts to find things in Rainbow City that is not what it seems. First they go to the dead mentors house and finds his son who got turned into an Adam can speak which is weird cause Adams can’t speak Then they go to the zoo where captured adams r kept but what’s weird is the government cut off their vocal cords. Anyways after that Dr.Seok gets kidnapped by the rebel cult called “the garden of Eden” whose main objective is to destroy rainbow city saying it’s “rotten” and led by the serpent. They play Dr.Ohs last will for dr.Seok before he got killed and Dr.Seok find out that the city was deliberately trying to keep Dr.Seok and Dr.Oh from meeting. He starts getting suspicious and starts investigating the death but there’s a system called “mother” at the base that is a security camera and holds all the data. The ML keeps telling him to stop but he keeps going and eventually he and the ml go to where the serpent tells Dr.Seok to go only for the shelters to blow up and then finding out it was a plot to frame them for the destruction of the shelter. Major Leak gets demoted to another shelter and Dr.Seok was going to see him when they got the announcement that the garden of Eden made a vaccine before rainbow city. So he offered to test it out and it worked but then the city announced it as fake. He goes to see Major Kwak who then surprisingly doesn’t really care the city lied about the vaccine and tells Dr.Seok to stop investing to which Dr.Seok starts writing down his thoughts in morse code in his room. We also get a view of the second master in his crib with insider information to the garden of Eden. A new researcher comes and it reminds everybody of the serpent (gee I wonder who he could be) name is Choi bitch face who immediately starts battering up to dr.Seok who is all like….. meanwhile the first master calls Major Kwak. Now it’s important to know the first master and second master r both masters of rainbow city but are at war with each other for power. He asks Major to come to his side because the second master is allegedly related to the garden of Eden and that he was the one who sent ppl to kill Dr.oh for being a rebel. Yep. Major doesn’t really give a shit but agrees to do what he says if the first master grants him a favor (which will be related much much later on) and he goes to see Dr.Seok Spoilers : Dr,Seok gets bitten by an Adam but survives be abuse of a fever that killed off the virus Dr.seok gets kidnapped by serpent and Major rescuses him They go to Udo to see second master who turns out is Dr.Seok’s biological dad and the serpent (who is Choi ho eon) is Dr.Seok’s half brother. Serpent’s dad is Wonho (Dr.Oh’s colleague who got killed by the military for being a rebel) Major almost dies jumping off a exploding helicopter Second master wants Dr.seok to be next master to which he refuses and a large zombie outbreak comes out Turns out the vaccine is fake and only meant to slow down the virus so the serpent can get a huge zombie army and blame it on the government then play hero so he can take over the government Dr.seok and Major is like “ya fuck this shit” and leaves for Russia (They skip the entire Russia arc which is a little over a year) Dr.seok develops the true vaccine and they head back and meet Major lee and Major yang Major Yang “betrays” them They convince the garden of Eden the vaccine is real and goes to see second master who was in hiding this entire time (First master tried to work with serpent but was then killed by serpent before the election) Second master insults Dr.Seok’s mom so he shoots him but then serpent comes, kills second master, kidnaps Dr.Seok and sends Major to die Major barely survives and starts a rebellion with Major Lee’s mom who is the head of the emperor penguin which is a family that got a lot of influence in rainbow city Dr.seok becomes the host of the 8th Adam variant and almost gets killed but Major comes just in time Major starts the rebellion, had Dr.Seok watch over the shelter from “mother” at the second master’s former base. Serpent finds Dr.Seok so he goes into hiding Final showdown Both Major and serpent find Dr.seok in the mountains and they fight. Major gets a lot of bullet wounds but still manages to kill serpent because serpent got infected while holding Dr.Seok Dr.seok gets sent to Russia while Major gets executed for killing the master His executioner is Mjaor lee who is like SIKE and together they kill the entire military Major then proceeds to pretend to be a crippled idiot for 5 months before going to find Dr.Seok in Russia. He finds him End of main story *Major Yang never actually betrays them, he just won the oscars (aka amazing acting skills)
