Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru
Based on the novel, which was adapted to anime and live-action movie as well. > And to think the author is a BL fan and, based on info from one of her essays on BL, she said that the initial idea for this story was BL with Haiji and Kakeru becoming romantically and sexually involved! Too bad it wasn't developed like that then. I so wanted to see something like that! But I still loved their moments together, especially some interesting ones from the anime! Like what seemed to me an indirect confession by Haiji (that wasn't present in the novel, where Kakeru actually realizes he loves Hanako) when he asked Kakeru if he had a girlfriend and said that the night sky was beautiful...it was like a tsuki ga kirei scene and in fact Haiji is a literature student! Then in the last two episodes there were some lines that were extremely satisfying! In any case, this story is so good. I really like it! > The two adaptations are a bit different. I loved the anime. It's what I liked the most out of all the material. But I really like the manga as well. I hope to read all the 6 volumes!
Love So Pure
Given
It's so rare to find a long good series like this nowadays, especially about music / with music band! And with anime (and live-action) adaptation to boot! I think there haven't been any since the "Gravitation" days! Anyway, apart from my weakness for stories with music bands, I really love all the characters / couples! It's actually a sad and dramatic story for some aspects, but it's an interesting and emotional reading! Definitely a BL masterpiece! • 1st couple: Ritsuka and Mafuyu (high-school students, different classes // Mafuyu's lover / childhood friend Yuki, who was in a band with Hiiragi and Shizu, committed suicide and he's left with only his guitar // Now in high school Mafuyu asks Ritsuka to teach him to play the guitar and then he becomes the vocalist of the band "The Seasons", whose name will be changed to "Given", in reference to the guitar that was given to Mafuyu that felt like a curse but became a new beginning) • 2nd couple: Haruki and Akihito (Uni students // Older Uke // Akihito is currently freeloading at the apartment of his ex-lover, violin prodigy, Ugetsu) • 3rd couple: Hiiragi and Shizu (childhood friends of Mafuyu and Yuki // Ex-bandmates of Yuki and now still in a band together) Adapted to Anime, Anime movie, OVA and JDrama.
Inside Full Bloom
It started out great, but then I'd have preferred another kind of interaction and development. Anyway, it was only the first chapter, so I'll wait for for the whole story before giving a definitive comment.
N.g!
• Ch. 1 N.G! - Cross-dressing // Twins // Secret Identity // High-School Student x Uni Student • Ch. 2 Because there's nothing you can do about it - Step-Father and Step-Son // Cohabitation // Age Gap // High-School Student and Adult • Ch. 3 Flower - High School // Student x Student // Bag Strap // Accused of thievery // Misunderstanding > I liked them, they were the kind of stories that I like. But I needed more! They felt like drafts! And they felt more like bromance|BL subtext. Apart from the lack of a kiss scene, even in the substance, it really felt like something was missing at the end, like that was only the beginning! They were nice but not fully developed, both in plot and feelings, because the characters didn't express properly their not-so-clear-yet feelings and the stories lacked a proper closure. The characters' relationships didn't really start...the stories ended just like that, leaving an unresolved feel. Their feelings were still in the initial|forming stage, in the budding phase, and they still had to be matured and then pursued. So, it seemed to me that the romance component wasn't there yet. 1 Volume (Complete) - Raw: 77mh.xyz / colist_232703.html
Silence
7 Chapters (Hiatus) Ahhh why didn't the author continue the story! We know it's "friends become lovers" and they both have feelings for each other, so we know where it was about to go, but I really wanted to see it happen and to see the ending! At least we got at the end of ch. 7 the direct confession of Masato to Kaoru. And they were finally about to clear their mutual misunderstanding and to reveal their unspoken feelings...Btw, I like the title "Silence" alluding to their unexpressed feelings. The manga stopped exactly when they were breaking that silence by revealing their thoughts and emotions! It's really a pity that the story has been on hiatus for many years already and the author herself doesn't even seem to be active anymore...
