Thomas no Shinzou (1974) - It was so beautifully written, so deep and full of all kinds of emotions. It's really a masterpiece! An essential, must-read classic! > I also want to recommend the film "Les amitiés particulières" (based on the homonymous novel by Roger Peyrefitte), which, together with some great literary works, also inspired Hagio Moto to write Thomas no Shinzou. The live-action "Summer Vacation 1999" (1988) is loosely based on Thomas no Shinzou - Note: A female cast was used to play the boys in the film, which is also very different from the original story anyway. Didn't feel much for these stories...

☚☛ An amazing fantasy tale set in a far-away kingdom, where an arranged marriage between royal families is planned, but with an enjoyable twist of the bride being actually a young prince, who dressed as a woman and went to marry in place of his sister! As the plot unfolds, there'll be intrigues and conspiracies at court and many adventures await for our protagonists, who will soon share a deep bond. The main couple is so sweet, but there is also tragedy: I wish all characters had a happy ending ( T ^ T )♡ But still, I love this story! It's surely one of my top favourite BL manhwa!!

"Each birthstone holds a different significance. Silver birthstones represent bad luck and are shunned by all, while gold birthstones are the exact opposite. Saffron is the holder of a gold birthstone, while Kai is the holder of a silver one. How will these two cousins get through such a twisted fate?" - I think the concept is quite unique, I really liked this story but it's really sad! [SPOILER] "It was just this once that I let go of your hand" ahhh I cried my eyes out! I'm a little frustrated about the ending...I mean, they went through many things, being always careful but then, at the end, Saffron died just like that! Seriously!? But yeah, the moral is that, no matter what you do, fate doesn't change and maybe it'll fool you in the most stupid way! I think this is the core of the story, but still...as Kai said, "This can't be real"!! ┗( T﹏T )┛But after all, the golden and the silver stones will always be reborn and search for each other! After Saffron died, the golden stone was reborn in the new Saffron and, after Kai will be dead, the silver one will be reborn too...so, a new story will begin!

Taking classic works and revisite them in a cool, witty way...I don't think that's so easy! Overall, the result was very good! After all, it's a story by Est Em: one immediately perceives sensei's unique and original touch! Obviously, all characters were male, but apart from that, each story was remarkable, enriched with interesting details and plot twists! And I think sensei's atypical art style gave the right athmosphere for these stories!
