RoseMary's manga / #Traditional House(63)

Oita ga Sugiru wa Koneko-chan

Complete | OGAWA Chise | 2015 released

(()) High-school student Kyuuta (17) often visits the old house of his 2nd cousin Etsuro (35), an unmarried calligraphy teacher, to bring him food and such. Despite being a womanizer, every time Kyuuta drops by, Etsuro never misses the chance to tease him. But, one day, Etsuro promptly protects Kyuuta from being hit by a scooter and injures himself, so Kyuuta says he will stay at Etsuro's house and take care of him till his wound heals... >> Seriously, give that man some calcium!! Haha how is it possible to fracture one bone after the other? But I liked this funny idea sensei used to make them spend time together and thus develop their relationship! Surely, the age gap is big but I love it and I love them together! It was a very pleasant reading. It was cute, funny and sexy all in one! I think ch. 5, in which we see their first meeting when Kyuuta was in middle school, gave this special sweet meaning to their relationship and made the story deeper. Also, one thing I loved was actually the setting, basically Etsuro's old house, because I like to see japanese traditional houses in manga! Alternate Story: Kono Ore ga Omae Nanka Suki na Wakenai (Kyuuta's school buddies are the couple Fujima and Okachimachi and Fujima's childhood twin friends Angie and Tokuko from Kono Ore ga Omae Nanka Suki na Wakenai).

Hana wa Saku ka

Complete | HIDAKA Shoko | 2007 released

Koe wa Shite Namida wa Mienu Nure Karasu

Complete | Unohana | 2000 released

Just look at the cover...it already made me love the story even before reading it! I love this type of setting, so relaxing and heart-warming! Personally, I like japanese traditional houses, so I really like it when I see them in manga, just like when for example I read "Hana wa Saku ka", "Oita ga Sugiru wa Koneko-chan" etc... > Too bad it seems it was dropped though...

Amadare no Koro

Complete | MOMOKO Suika | 2015 released

This is such a precious gem in my opinion! I feel that it's underrated, when it's really not to be missed! And this is actually one of those stories where I can't really explain what I felt while reading...you know, it's just that it touched my heart...ahhh such pure and spontaneous feelings of youth! I really like to read stories about puberty and such and I think this is a great story like that! > A story that gives me similar feeling while reading is Shiro No Koro.

Koi ni mo Naranai.

Complete | Hagi | 2016 released

Hagi's first series! And in my opinion a great one! I totally loved it! It was the kind of BL I like to read, especially in terms of characters and their interaction, so I really enjoyed reading it!

Country Diary

Complete | ISINO Aya | 2018 released

(()) Countryside-themed sweet story composed of mostly short chapters filled with heart-warming, cordial vibes. I really like how Kurumizawa gives it all his best and is so passionate about trying to grow his own veggies, learning things and such. And Usa is such a capable man, he really can do pretty much anything! I'm so glad Kurumizawa found such a reliable person to help him out and teach him things! They look really good together...it doesn't matter if it's romantic or not, it's such a precious relationship regardless! Btw, it is said it's not yaoi and that's true, but we can surely say it's BL Subtext...at least for me! At the end, they even live together and they changed the way they call each other (Giichi-kun and Jun-san) meaning that they got even closer, so I'm really content with it, even if it's a sort of subtly hinted relationship. > Reading this kind of stories makes one see the beauty in the simple, little things of everyday life! Such an enjoyable, relaxing reading! It soothes my heart! Also, I love countryside settings and old houses, so I loved every detail of this story and how it covered the four seasons: it was so nice to see the natural landscape in all its forms from spring to winter! - A TRUE GEM!! I'd say a slice-of-life masterpiece!
