Chiaki had a crush on Shuu but never confessed and later felt heartbroken when he saw that Shuu fell in love with Nanami, a guy. >> I have mixed feelings about this story! Overall, I liked it. I mean, I was curious to read their story and so I was really looking forward to read it. From what I saw in the main story, I liked Ayumi and I wanted to see how he would make Chiaki fall in love with him...but I can't hide that I was unsatisfied / disappointed with the turn the story took from ch. 3 onwards!! I didn't think Ayumi would do something like chaining him (and it was not the chaining per sè, as it wasn't that extreme). Was it necessary? Well, if we think about how he grew up always having what he wanted expect for that one time he was shocked because he didn't manage to have some goldfish, then that could explain how he'd want to monopolize Chiaki and keep him in his clasp once he decided he wanted him...and I mean a little possessivness is good too, but that seems all a bit weird! I also understand that the author used that tying down thing to bring out the issue of Chiaki's step-brother tying him down by blackmailing him, and I actually liked how Ayumi delt with the step-brother making it so that Chiaki was able to put an end to that situation, but as I said it felt weird, especially as in the end they are all lovey-dovey like that! I would have preferred to see Ayumi making Chiaki fall in love with him in a genuine way, after all I think he had the potential to do so without restraining him! I don't know, overall I liked it, but it was not what I expected / wanted to see...it was also kinda difficult for me to rate it. Apart from being one of those youth-love stories that I always love to read, one aspect that I really liked is the communication between the characters and their internal thoughts: the way they communicated, how they thought / talked about things. I appreciated how towards the end they finally said everthing they wanted to say, be it between the brothers themselves or with they respective lovers!
