Last Summer Blues

Complete | ogawa chise | 2012 released

Oneshot included in Gosan no Heart (ch. 4) - This story felt more like Bromance|BL Subtext. The theme is baseball and, regarding that and the fact that senpai doesn't practice anymore, the issue is resolved, although in a bittersweet sense because senpai actually can't play baseball anymore due to arm injury. But, regarding the characters' feelings, nothing was spoken out loud. It remained implicit and this seemed like it was only the beginning...it definitely needed to be longer!

Natsu no Teppen ni Saku

High-school Students, Childhood Friends, Seaside and Summer?! Man, I couldn't ask for more! Just my kind of story!

Socrates In Love

Complete | Kyoichi Katayama | 2004 released

Adapted from Katayama Kyoichi's popular, heartbreaking novel called "Sekai no Chuushin de, Ai wo Sakebu", which was also adapted into multiple live-actions (Japanese movie and drama, Korean and Chinese movies). > Somehow, considering also the live-actions, this manga adaptation kinda felt like a summary. But it was still a beautiful tragic story!

Mimi Wo Sumaseba

Complete | Hiiragi Aoi | 1989 released

Adapted to anime movie. > Imo, the anime is great. I enjoyed watching it, but I must say that I prefer the manga. Maybe because some things were a bit changed in the anime and I preferred how they were in the manga. And in the manga I really liked the interaction between Seiji and Shizuku and the development of their relationship. Anyway, I recommend both manga and movie. It's a very pleasant and heart-warming story that I truly enjoyed. It's without a doubt a favourite of mine! Related series: 1 Mimi wo Sumaseba 2 Baron - Neko no Danshaku - Adapted to anime movie as well. Sir Cat the Baron and the cat Muta become protagonists of a fantasy story. 3 Yume no Machi - Neko no Danshaku [[I really liked also the unrelated story included in the second volume, ch. 6 "Kikyou no Saku Koro" - High School // Student x Student // Different Schools // 4 stars]]

Innocent Blue

Complete | yukishiro marie | 2008 released

️Yeah, we can definitely say a thing or two about the seme, like we all agree on the fact that back then the seme would have really let the uke be gang raped by his friends, if the uke's cousin didn't come to rescue him. He was already leaving the room...we may even say that maybe he would have gone back in the room, but that seemed so unlikely. I also read many comments about the fact that the seme didn't apologized for how he treated the uke all along. But this is the type of character chosen for this story. And one may like him or not. Personally, I like reading stories with bad, villain-like protagonist as well, so it was interesting. And about the uke being so forgiving...well, that's true, he's so painfully naive but he's not stupid for me, he's just so pure and he's so blindly in love with Rin. He didn't deserve that, and that was what hurt the most while reading. But when he went to find the seme at that house on the beach, that very same innocence, and his genuine and forgiving feelings above all, finally reached the seme. The seme also thought the uke fell for him because he was the first person who showed him freedom, but the uke fell in love at first sight with the seme. After the seme brought the uke at the hospital and then left, that seashell he left behind meant that the time they spent at the beach was precious and it was also his way to say he was sorry. The fact itselft that he went away meant he felt some kind of remorse. Well, that's just my opinion. In any case, overall I really liked this story, because I'm a sucker for this kind of youth angsty drama stories! Also, the art style was well-suited for the story, although some panels needed some refinement. In a couple of them, I really couldn't make out the characters' exact gestures. So it had some flaws here and there, but the story itself is really good for me.

Chinatsu No Uta

Complete | kitagawa shou | 2004 released

Ahh that was beautiful! Truly beautiful and heartfelt! But the ending honestly left me a bit unsatisfied, hanging...because I wanted to see a bit more of them after that. Especially going back, then, at the beginning! Like, in the very first page, we saw a bit-older Fuyuki going back to the hometown after 10 years, so what did he do in those years when he moved to the city and what will he do after returning back home? What happened to Chinatsu...did she follow the music path like Fuyuki thought she would or what? Did something happen to her maybe? And other things like that...Somehow it felt like some things were left hanging...Man, I want to know! Why did Kitagawa-sensei rushly ended it like that? Personally, I'd even have gladly welcomed if there was a sequel with a-bit-older Fuyuki and Chinatsu. It was too soon to say goodbye to these characters...I'd have loved to accompany them a bit more... Anyway, it's a bit of a pity. It was so nice and all while reading, also with such beautiful scenery, but the ending left a sense of incompleteness behind. It was still really good, but in the end I couldn't give it 5 stars. Enzo from "Hotman" appears in a few scenes here as a teacher at the elementary school the protagonists of the story, Chinatsu and Fuyuki, go to. Towards the end, Nanami appears as well, saying to Chinatsu she had transferred to the school here before her to recuperate better in a place with clean air. So the story is set a few years after the events of Hotman. At some point, maybe when Nanami's condition gets better, Enzo and Nanami will probably transfer back to their homeplace, where we see them in fact at the very end of Hotman, after the 10 years time skip.

So cute! But it's only the beginning of their story...wish it was developed with a nice slow pace, into a longer series!
