But since moving to Japan, they decided to keep it a secret...so every morning when they arrive at school they show their dislike for each other... // 2 Stars, but it was too ridiculous. > It's obviously not to be taken seriously, but let's focus on a few things that didn't make sense and lacked explanation. First of all, they're transfer students who are said to be foreign citizens that didn't live in Japan before. So, where did they live? They have Japanese names, so are they really foreigners|mixed blood or did they simply live abroad? And what is the specific reason they moved to Japan, did they elope? And let's come to the fact that they're married...even if they decided to keep it a secret, why would they pretend to hate each other? But more than that, let's talk about the fact that the uke was already married once before with a woman (so was he straight|bisexual?) and he has a step-son, the son of that woman. The thing is the step-son has around the same age as the uke and goes to the same school, so had the uke's late wife twice his age? But more than the age gap issue, the fact is that the uke is currently a high schooler and it's already been three years since the woman died, so when did they get married? When he was around 14 or 15? It was a really weird and random story...

Tbh, I would have loved the original draft the author planned at first (that was more brutal xD)! Too bad it was rejected and so she had to make it milder and go easier with Atsushi's dark past and also reduce the number of piercings! Well, Atsushi's piercings were still a lot and so I still really liked his appearance. But regarding the milder vibe, while I really liked the story, I felt there was something missing, like it wasn't the captivating kind of story that I love, but yeah that's just my personal taste, which is oriented towards very tough, turbulent and raw stuff. Overall, it was good though! I really liked this quote at the end: "...When we first met...I arrogantly said that I'll change your world, right? But it looks like mine is the one that got changed. I'm sure the reason why we met is definitely to bring me happiness, because this must be fate." #Blonde Half-Japanese Seme x Black-Haired Japanese Uke, Love at First Sight, Strangers Become Lovers, Dependency, Fear of Abandonment, Bad Parent, Parental Abandonment, Possessive Lover, Trauma P.S. I'd love it if the author would really write the story of Atsushi's employer manager|tattoo artist Masa, who also was at the same orphanage as Atsushi. > The oneshot included in ch. 5 was ok, but nothing more. // Complete // Man, if all BLs were like this! It was so well-written, with good characters, dynamics and development. I liked their relationship and interaction. The pace was just right. And there was such a nice vibe going on, rendered by the warm atmosphere of the shopping street and Hide's house and family and especially by the characters' sweetness! I really loved everything! A satisfying heart-warming reading!

Gay Photographer x Straight Editor // Seme x Seme Concept - There's no way around it...seeing two mature grown-up men interacting with each other and getting all hot and bothered, it's really something else! I love this type of couples where both guys are manly and self-confident. I really liked it. The only thing that I have to complain about is that line where the photographer, who in the end was the seme, said that he would take a big blow as a man if he would end up bottoming...that kinda ruined it a bit, especially when there was such potential for them to become a reversible couple...

// Complete // Can't help it, this is one of those coming of age gems I love to read, so I loved it so much! The dynamics and interaction between the characters were also my type. And I love this author's art style: somehow this type of trait made me feel like I was really reading a story between two guys. I really loved the vibe of this story! I liked how the author portrayed the confused, new sensations of two innocent boys in puberty. I also liked the thing about communicating through letters. Nowadays it may seem so outdated, but, even if it's a fictional story, I was glad to see that there was someone like Natsume who appreciated this kind of thing, as I am into vintage stuff myself. Anyway, I liked everything from beginning to end and the pace and development, so I'm really satisfied. By the way, I really like the title "Growing Pains". And I was somehow touched when I read the afterword because the author said she wrote this story with all of her preferences in mind and I liked all the things she said! Those are exactly the ones I love too. No wonder then that I loved this! It was really the story for me! And I have this fulfilling feeling, you know, that you have when you finally come across your kind of story. I'm so glad I found this! ^^ > It reminded me a bit of the story "Shiro No Koro".
