I like mahou shoujo together with kaitou trope! Even better if there's an intriguing romance going on! In fact, I liked this story especially for the romantic part: I loved the relationship between Jeanne / Maron and Sinbad / Chiaki! > Manga and anime are a bit different. Not only towards the end, but there're also some differences here and there. For example, in the manga Maron already finds out about Sinbad being Chiaki in ch. 5, while in the anime she finds out later and for this I think I liked it better how it happened in the anime, because in the manga I thought it was a bit soon and it was anticlimatic how she found out. Then, in the anime there're also several fillers episodes that imo were not really necessary. But the main difference would be Fin's story, which was a bit changed in the anime together with the final events. And with the ending itself being different. «✿()✿» THE SHOUJO MANGA! The one and only! For those like me who are fond of classic manga, especially classic shoujo, this is the first one I recommend, an essential must-read, a timeless masterpiece! So much love for this story! Too bad that vol. 50 has been postponed indefinitely! ╥﹏╥ > I really hope sensei would give us the ending already! Apart from the final decision for the Crimson Goddess, I really want to see Masumi finally facing Maya as the Purple Rose, and to see them both finally conveying their true feelings for each other. They are one of my top fav couples, so I really need to see them together! Although especially in vol. 48-49 things don't seem to work out at all with Shiori's madness and Masumi who, even if after the episode of the cruise ship with Maya he decided to cancel the wedding, in the end found himself having to accept to marry Shiori. But then, in the preview of vol. 50, Masumi finally makes it clear to Old Takamiya that he intends to break the engagement off with Shiori and and Takamiya at last says that he'll agree if Masumi manages to make Shiori recover her mental health! So, I really hope there will be a happy ending! But since moving to Japan, they decided to keep it a secret...so every morning when they arrive at school they show their dislike for each other... // 2 Stars, but it was too ridiculous. > It's obviously not to be taken seriously, but let's focus on a few things that didn't make sense and lacked explanation. First of all, they're transfer students who are said to be foreign citizens that didn't live in Japan before. So, where did they live? They have Japanese names, so are they really foreigners|mixed blood or did they simply live abroad? And what is the specific reason they moved to Japan, did they elope? And let's come to the fact that they're married...even if they decided to keep it a secret, why would they pretend to hate each other? But more than that, let's talk about the fact that the uke was already married once before with a woman (so was he straight|bisexual?) and he has a step-son, the son of that woman. The thing is the step-son has around the same age as the uke and goes to the same school, so had the uke's late wife twice his age? But more than the age gap issue, the fact is that the uke is currently a high schooler and it's already been three years since the woman died, so when did they get married? When he was around 14 or 15? It was a really weird and random story...

But I needed more! They felt like drafts! And they felt more like bromance|BL subtext. Apart from the lack of a kiss scene, even in the substance, it really felt like something was missing at the end, like that was only the beginning! They were nice but not fully developed, both in plot and feelings, because the characters didn't express properly their not-so-clear-yet feelings and the stories lacked a proper closure. The characters' relationships didn't really start...the stories ended just like that, leaving an unresolved feel. Their feelings were still in the initial|forming stage, in the budding phase, and they still had to be matured and then pursued. // Based on the Game, adapted also into the famous anime // Apart from some differences, let's say that this manga adaptation is more or less like the anime. However, while being categorized as shounen ai, this manga is not really BL. There's nothing really going on. It's bromance (at most BL subtext if we count the "I love him" said by Omi, the Queen's pet, referring to Kaoru, the Queen). I liked it, but I wasn't much interested, so I read it very quickly. I mean, it was not bad, but, if you want some actual shounen ai, I recommend the anime instead, where there's more about Keita and Kazuki's relationship and they really end up together.
