Hot Road

Complete | tsumugi taku | 2000 released

Adapted to Live-action Movie - available at kissasian Maybe this is a story that may not be everyone's cup of tea...first of all, because of the art. In that case, I think it's still worth trying to read till the end. But then I guess it also depends if the story itself suits one's personal tastes. So, what I can say is that I recommend it especially to those like me who like old manga and turbulent, angsty teen romances / coming of age stories. Turbulent and angsty yes, but that are so good and pure after all. But really, for me it's a great story and I truly liked it. I worried together with the characters, but in the end I got a smile on my face and I felt hopeful. I think it's a story that can convey raw, real feelings that at first may seem depressing, desperate but that in the end truly touch your heart. That's why I'd actually like to recommend it to everyone, after all. Personally, I loved the movie as well. - "Our road extends much further than this" -

Tom Sawyer

Complete | Takahashi Shin | 2000 released

️Very engaging! Personally, I love it when I find stories based on classics and I think this one is very interesting to read. Not only because of the breathtaking sceneries, but also the way it was written. I found myself wanting to read all the story right away, while being immersed in that nostalgic summer atmosphere, following the adventures of the characters together with both their light-hearted youth moments and their worries and troubles. It was definitely an adventure for me as well!

Kingyo no Koi

Complete | SAGAMI Waka | 2000 released

Adapted from: Kirakira no Hibi - This is the story of Uni students Chiaki and Ayumi, who got to know Shuu while doing a part-time job as lifeguards. Chiaki had a crush on Shuu but never confessed and later felt heartbroken when he saw that Shuu fell in love with Nanami, a guy. >> I have mixed feelings about this story! Overall, I liked it. I mean, I was curious to read their story and so I was really looking forward to read it. From what I saw in the main story, I liked Ayumi and I wanted to see how he would make Chiaki fall in love with him...but I can't hide that I was unsatisfied / disappointed with the turn the story took from ch. 3 onwards!! I didn't think Ayumi would do something like chaining him (and it was not the chaining per sè, as it wasn't that extreme). Was it necessary? Well, if we think about how he grew up always having what he wanted expect for that one time he was shocked because he didn't manage to have some goldfish, then that could explain how he'd want to monopolize Chiaki and keep him in his clasp once he decided he wanted him...and I mean a little possessivness is good too, but that seems all a bit weird! I also understand that the author used that tying down thing to bring out the issue of Chiaki's step-brother tying him down by blackmailing him, and I actually liked how Ayumi delt with the step-brother making it so that Chiaki was able to put an end to that situation, but as I said it felt weird, especially as in the end they are all lovey-dovey like that! I would have preferred to see Ayumi making Chiaki fall in love with him in a genuine way, after all I think he had the potential to do so without restraining him! I don't know, overall I liked it, but it was not what I expected / wanted to see...it was also kinda difficult for me to rate it. I would have wanted to give it 4 stars, but I wasn't convinced so I gave 3. Let's leave it at that. # Straight Seme x Bisexual Uke > Note: tagged with wrong genres - it's not fantasy / supernatural

Raiatea

Faced with an uncertain prognosis, he feels an urgent need to revisit the South Pacific island that inspired his career. Can he convince the man he encountered there years ago, now a medical researcher in Southern California, to accompany him on his journey? > I really loved this story! Especially when they went back to the island together and when they finally made love immersed in the nature...it was truly beautiful and fascinating! Also, Mani's tribal tattoos looked so good on him! # Half-South-Pacific Half-French Uke

Revival Blue

Complete | itz | 2018 released

A true gem! One of the best age-gap BL! (When they met they were 14 y.o. and 29 y.o. Then, they reunite 9 years later when they're 23 y.o. and 38 y.o. // Age Gap: 15 years)

Uminari

Complete | takao hiroi,Kamuro Akira | 2000 released

Collection of Stories - I really liked the title story, which is my favourite, and the last story! 4 stars for them! Uminari (pp. 9-80, 243-251) - Art Teacher x High-school Student // Youth x Adult // Older Uke // Seaside Moon of the sixteenth Night (pp. 86-125) - Someone's "convenient lover", a uni student, falls in love for the first time with a kouhai from his uni. Bittersweet! I felt kinda bad for the older guy who was left behind...maybe if he had been more honest about his true feelings, things would have been different. - University Students // First Love // Older Uke // Smoking Duplicate Key (pp. 131-165) - Funny story of two lovers who for the first time will have to be sepatated for one week due to work reasons, with one having to go away for a workshop and the other for a research... - Adult Couple // Cohabitation // Older Uke // Salaryman x Professor // Established Couple Related Series: 1 Uminari (Third Story, Shared Key); 2 Himitsu no Kuchizuke (ch. 1 Secret Kiss); 3 Rumble Rush (ch. 3 High School Maze, ch. 6 After the Rain). Last Kiss (pp. 172-237) - Middle-Aged Protagonist // Childhhod Friends // Family // Neighbors // Summer // Sea / Beach - "Honestly, those two guys over there are exactly like the fathers!" haha the sister said it right! There's the potential that the path that wasn't pursued by the fathers will be taken by the sons instead! Anyway, it's still a bittersweet story!

Hisuiiro no Kaze

Complete | oumi shinano | 2007 released

2007-released Collection of older works by Oumi Shinano: • Ch. 1 Where Miracle Exists? - Youth / Male Prostitute x Salaryman // Straight Seme // Older Seme // Reencounter • Ch. 2-3 Hisuiiro no Kaze / Wind of the Green Jade - Youth / High-school Student x Famous Novelist (the so-called “Hard-boiled man”) // Seaside Village // Half-Japanese Half-German Uke // Jade-green Eyes // Motorcycle // Family Drama // Older Seme > Wind of the Green Jade is actually the title of the story that the novelist wrote at the end of the story and dedicated to Midori. • Ch. 4 First Step - Dancing // Theater // Stage Actors // Older Seme - [[Also published in Yatte Yaru, Konya!, ch. 3 - mangago.me / read-manga / yatte_yaru_konya / an / yatte-yaru-konya--chapter-3.html / 3 /]] • Ch. 5 Love Song - Inter-linked to and set after the events of ch. 4, it's focused on the established adult couple of Saeki and Yoshiki. > Too bad for the one-sided sex / "rape as a start of relationship" often found in Oumi Shinano's stories! Here, the only story that doesn't have such element is the last one. Anyway, overall I liked all the stories, but for the plot and my personal tastes I really liked the first story and the second story (the title story). For those two maybe I'd have given it 4 stars...
