Beauty and the beast

Complete | Owaru | 2000 released

>> "Wow...to be honest, I'm really happy. I always dreamt of having a big dog. And you can also talk, that's perfect" haha >> "Hey, I will let you play with my tail if it makes you feel better" hehe how sweet! Revisited, funny BL version of Beauty and the Beast! Seriously, the more I read stories based on classics, which I grew up with, the more my pure childhood memories are corrupted haha but that's ok~ this was simply so cute!!~♡ This story is actually included in Hang Out Crisis

Don't Cry My Baby

Complete | NISHIDA Higashi | 2009 released

Collection of stories: ▸ Ch. 1-2 Love Song|Don't Cry My Baby (pp. 11-78) - Salaryman x Straight Window Washer and Musician Reliable salaryman Fujita spots window washer Ohno outside his office and finds himself wondering what life would be like on the wild side. >> I like this type of encounter! I loved when their eyes met and Ohno started showing off haha through the window he looked so wild and hot! ▸ Ch. 3 Personal Feelings (pp. 79-120) - Salarymen // Boss x Subordinate // Sexual Curiosity Sawamura sleeps with a married woman, who turns out to be the wife of his boss, Chief Nishigaki! What is more, he finds out that his boss is actually gay... >> I like it when the MC has an affair with someone's wife and then he ends up being curious about the husband instead haha ▸ Ch. 4 A Wife's Love (pp. 121-154) - Salarymen // Boss x Subordinate // Age Gap // Oyaji Seme // Business Trip Chief Kawashima wonders why the competent young newcomer Mikami won't open up to him... ▸ Ch. 5 King (pp. 155-196) - Historical // Roman Empire // Coup d'etat // Enemy King x Former Prince // Stockholm Syndrome Invader Gabel's brutal victory upends the life of young prince Elio... >> This was interesting, because in historical genre it's rare to find BL set during that era, so it's something to check out for those who are into this kind of stories. To sum up, three stories are about salarymen, involving affairs in the 2nd and 3rd, and somehow they have a realistic touch; while the last one is historical and it's set at the time of the Romans. Overall, I liked all the stories (the 3rd is the one I liked less). For me, it's captivating how sensei draws manly guys, because their features seem like those of real men...like I commented about Ohno in the first story: that's the taste of a real, attractive man! And I also love sensei's distinctive way of ending stories...they may seem unfinished or vague but that's not the case...that's exactly how sensei wants them to end and I love it!

Flower Flower

Ongoing | iwami shouko | 2007 released

// Complete (Discontinued) // ~~ "Today, Onii-sama's fiancée arrived. Correction. Today, my fiancée arrived" haha and that's only the beginning! - Funny and cute. And the art is fluffy. I really liked it. Tomboyish Shu was simply adorable, while Nina at first seemed terrible...despite being so beautiful, she was so mean to Shu, but she's just a tsundere, so I couldn't really hate her. Also, when she was showing her true feelings, she was very sweet! Reading this, I found out that I really like GL in historical fantasy setting! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧ 2 Volumes (Complete|Discontinued) - The only problem is the "ending": too bad that it's unfinished, because there were still things to know...like those flashbacks about Nina's past and also about Shu's cross-dressing older brother, the fishy prince that Nina was supposed to marry...Somehow he seemed too obsessed with Shu... And anyway, I hoped to see more development in the two princesses' relationship!

Reimei No Arcana

Complete | toma rei | 2009 released

୨ "A story of fate that begins from a wedding ceremony..." The feels! This is one of those stories which gave me an emotional attachment...a story I'll never forget! It's a great fantasy tale with an amazing plot! The setting is fascinating: there are two countries that have been at war for 200 years; royalty; sub-people|ajins (half-humans, half-animals) and intriguing special power. I liked the concept of the arcana: such a mysterious power, of different types, that goes beyond human imagination and that is the core of the whole story. It was definitely interesting. And till the very end there are some amazing plot twists, which could be somehow predicted through the clues left along the story, but that are still compelling! A story like this didn't fail to catch my attention! Also, I really like stories in which the characters are enemies at first, but then they fall deeply in love with each other...especially in historical setting! I liked all the characters and their growth. In particular, I liked how Caesar was changed by love. At first, he was mean and he bullied Nakaba, but then he became kind and he was so sweet. I was eager to see the development of their relationship. And Nabaka is a type of female lead that I really like. I think she had always been a strong girl, but in the beginning she was discriminated and couldn't do anything about it...then along the story she became truly powerful. I really liked her evolution. Last but not least, I love red-haired characters. >> It would be great if this manga was to be adapted into anime!!

Rushed Ending/Axed - I thought this manga would be interesting, as I love this kind of stories (historical, fantasy, european ambient, arranged marriage, age gap, royalty etc.), but sadly it turned out to be pretty boring. Imo, it lacks something to intrigue the reader, even from the romantic point of view. I mean, the couple is still very cute, but as the princess is a 10 y.o. child bride, nothing much happens of course. Precisely, it'd have been interesting to see the development of their relationship as she grew older, but the story stopped before reaching that point. So, it's ok, but it didn't live up to my expectations... Adapted from novel: https://www.novelupdates.com/series/adarushan-no-hanayome/
