Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne

Complete | tanemura arina | 1998 released

I like mahou shoujo together with kaitou trope! Even better if there's an intriguing romance going on! In fact, I liked this story especially for the romantic part: I loved the relationship between Jeanne / Maron and Sinbad / Chiaki! > Manga and anime are a bit different. Not only towards the end, but there're also some differences here and there. For example, in the manga Maron already finds out about Sinbad being Chiaki in ch. 5, while in the anime she finds out later and for this I think I liked it better how it happened in the anime, because in the manga I thought it was a bit soon and it was anticlimatic how she found out. Then, in the anime there're also several fillers episodes that imo were not really necessary. But the main difference would be Fin's story, which was a bit changed in the anime together with the final events. And with the ending itself being different. Anyway, I liked both anime and manga, but I think in the anime they should have reproduced the final part just like it was in the manga. Anime: gogoanime.pro / anime / kamikaze-kaitou-jeanne-lrwq

Please Save My Earth

Complete | HIWATARI Saki | 1987 released

Hiwatari Saki's masterpiece! A must-read classic! - An interesting, thought-provoking and beautiful story. One of those unforgettable ones! It's really a brilliantly written work. I was anticipating so much for all the elements to be finally put together, and, while keeping following the characters' inner thoughts and feelings and observing their reactions and growth, I felt the story had this powerful fascinating and mysterious vibe that got me so hooked...I so wanted to see what would happen next that I got so immersed in reading, while being so emotionally engaged as well! I loved it so much! Totally recommended! It's absolutely amazing. I really think it's one of the very best manga ever! > The OVA episodes were good too, but they cover only till volume 8 (Tankoubon), so they just end like that without a conclusion. 21 Volumes (Tankoubon - Complete) // 12 Volumes (Bunkoban - Complete) OVA (1993 // 6 episodes): gogoanime.run / category / boku-no-chikyuu-wo-mamotte > Special: youtube.com / watch?v=NGQEv7g8_xE - "The Passing of the Golden Age contains six music videos with footage not seen in the OVA and scenes taken from the manga, as well as a slightly different version of the OVA ending sequence, and the ending credits for the image videos." Boku Wo Tsutsumu Tsuki No Hikari

Complete | hiwatari saki | 2005 released

Continuation of PSME. A second-generation series. Alice (now 32 y.o.) and Rin (now 23 y.o.) are married and they have a son, Ren (7 y.o.), who is an elementary school student. Alice got pregnant when she was 24 and Rin was 15. They got married when Rin was 18. Ren's friend Kachiko is Mikuro's daughter. In vol. 8 ch. 38, Alice finds out she's pregnant with their second child, a daughter. > Unfortunately, I didn't love it as much as I thought I would! First of all, I must say that I resented the change in art style. I mean, the new art style is not that bad per se, but I didn't like it much and it's just that it's a bit too different from the old one from the prequel and I couldn't get used to it, like the characters didn't feel like them anymore, you know, and I simply missed so much the old art which I loved. Well, it's understandable that after many years there would be changes in the style, so it's ok, but it still didn't feel right (and just why, Shion didn't even have his sexy mole anymore!!). Anyway, the story is not entirely bad, I generally liked it, let's say. But I think it wasn't nearly as good, interesting and emotional as PSME. Actually, it totally pales in comparison! In fact, it didn't get me hooked like the prequel did. While it was funny, heart-warming and pleasant to read, it was also boring for me. Also, it was kinda episodic at first, then it continued on in a direction, but it didn't have an intriguing continuous storyline like the prequel. I actually read it quicky without comtemplating much, because I found myself not being much invested. There weren't any wow moments or plot twists and there really wasn't even a good climax...it was all kinda flat. When I finished all the chapters, I thought "oh, it ended", "is that it?", like it left me kinda unsatisfied. I mean, the ending itself was very nice, but maybe I expected another kind of sequel alltogether. Having said that, it's not a bad story! It's good to read it once. It's just that it's disappointing as a sequel. Rhapsody of Mulan

Ongoing | Jun Guangxian | 2000 released

I think the plot of this story is interesting, so I would like to read it. I must say though that I hate it visually speaking. The art, its coloring and the panels structure are not to my liking at all. I think the setting and all the various backgrounds are so poorly rendered. For me it has zero visual appeal. And that doesn't let me enjoy the reading properly. This webcomic had the potential to be so much better if the story actually had a good representation and execution. Well, I'll still read it if it continues, but for now it seems it's on hiatus anyways... 98 Chapters (Hiatus)
