Knife (CHIBA Ryouko)
Adapted from: Tsuzuki wa Mata Yoru ni > I already liked the story from which it is adapted, but this is so good! It's the type of detective stories that I like, with an actual investigation and a peek to the world of detective profession. The plot was interesting, as well as the characters and their dynamics: I loved the way Sakuma and Tsutsumi's relationship started and then developed. #Bisexual Seme x Uke who has sex with men due to trauma
Battery
Based on homonymous novel by Asano Atsuko that was also adapted to anime - gogoanime.sx / anime / battery-the-animation-9o6q - and Live-action (Movie + Drama) > I liked the anime, but personally I prefer the manga adaptation. It's so much better. I totally love it, also for the art style! And there are more interesting scenes between Gou and Takumi which were left out in the anime! > Apparently the manga was to be concluded in September 2021 with the 10th vol. I'm not sure if it's really finished. In any case, I hope to read the whole story!
Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru
Based on the novel, which was adapted to anime and live-action movie as well. > And to think the author is a BL fan and, based on info from one of her essays on BL, she said that the initial idea for this story was BL with Haiji and Kakeru becoming romantically and sexually involved! Too bad it wasn't developed like that then. I so wanted to see something like that! But I still loved their moments together, especially some interesting ones from the anime! Like what seemed to me an indirect confession by Haiji (that wasn't present in the novel, where Kakeru actually realizes he loves Hanako) when he asked Kakeru if he had a girlfriend and said that the night sky was beautiful...it was like a tsuki ga kirei scene and in fact Haiji is a literature student! Then in the last two episodes there were some lines that were extremely satisfying! In any case, this story is so good. I really like it! > The two adaptations are a bit different. I loved the anime. It's what I liked the most out of all the material. But I really like the manga as well. I hope to read all the 6 volumes!
Sankaku Mado no Sotogawa wa Yoru
10 Volumes (Complete) Adapted to live-action and anime
07 Ghost
While I was reading this, my inner fujoshi self whispered all the time Frau x Teito, and it would have been really a dream, but apart from my obsession, this is a genial work, a masterpiece indeed. A gothic fantasy with an amazing plot, cool characters and it was a journey full of emotions: there is so much wisdom in this manga and it really touched me. And it's also one of the best stories with bromance: I love the beautiful deep bond between Teito and Frau, their meeting is fated and everything happens for a reason. Even if some things may be predictable, 07-Ghost is unique!
Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiru
Vanitas no Shuki
Sorry Jeanne, Domi or whoever, but for me it's Noe x Vanitas all the time!! Anyway, I'm so obsessed with this story! I love it so much <3 > I love the anime as well! - // End of S2 = ch. 55.5 //
Yarouze
Sports-themed story focusing on motorcycle racing. There're seemingly three pairs: high schoolers Sou and Fuwa (the main couple - Sou is an enthusiastic racer. Fuwa is a playboy who at first pretends to know about bikes to get close to Kusanagi Sou, but then he becomes serious about racing too); Sou's older brother Kou (who was also a racer but had to quit after an accident) and Jin (the current champ racer who debuted when Kou was still racing. And it was actually because of his reckless driving that then Kou got into that accident); Ekuni (Ekuni engineering President) and Shirube (Ekuni's lead assistant and secretary). While it's a shounen ai, it's actually more of an ambiguous / subtext thing, as any possible romantic feelings aren't really pursued and aren't the focus here anyway. Things stop mostly at jokes and funny moments. The two side couples didn't even have a kiss scene and such. Sou and Fuwa had some interesting moments, especially at the beginning, and I was really loving their dynamics, but it's mainly Fuwa's doing, because Sou is really always thinking only about racing lol. But I loved their bond and reciprocal understanding, especially after Fuwa became serious about racing too (and speaking about Fuwa, I really liked his personal evolution!). Then, in the second part, the story becomes totally focused on them preparing for and doing the racing. Anyway, while I admit I'd have wanted to see a bit more of the characters' relationships, the story is pretty good! Overall, I really liked it, because it's not your typical BL, in terms of plot and characters' interaction etc., and it's attractively manly! Anyway, as long as the mood between the characters is good and the way they behave towards each other is authentic, it's not really necessary to have confessions / proclamations of love and such...theirs was really like an unspoken understanding and I think that's also one of the strong points of the story, which ultimately is an actual sports story and I really appreciated that!
