Black Knight

Ongoing | Tsurugi Kai | 2003 released

[From Blu] Black Knight, the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a knight in the kingdom of Aran. Sieg O’Brian may have his eyes on the title of Black Knight but he’s also after another prize, the young prince, Chris. Black Knight is a sweeping romantic fantasy epic about the relationship between the prince of a medieval kingdom and his loyal guardsman. Our story begins when Chris and Sieg meet in military school and embark on a life-long relationship fraught with danger, treachery, and above all, love. >>> A timeless favourite of mine! I really love this kind of stories with european ambient about kingdoms, knights, royalty etc. especially in BL! I wish there were more like this! I really hope to read the whole story one day!

Gakuen Heaven: Revolution

Complete | Spray,Higuri You | 2000 released

// Based on the Game, adapted also into the famous anime // Apart from some differences, let's say that this manga adaptation is more or less like the anime. However, while being categorized as shounen ai, this manga is not really BL. There's nothing really going on. It's bromance (at most BL subtext if we count the "I love him" said by Omi, the Queen's pet, referring to Kaoru, the Queen). I liked it, but I wasn't much interested, so I read it very quickly. I mean, it was not bad, but, if you want some actual shounen ai, I recommend the anime instead, where there's more about Keita and Kazuki's relationship and they really end up together. There's even a kiss at the end. Personally, I totally prefer the anime! Alternate Story: Gakuen Heaven (another manga adaptation by Higuri Yuu) Anime: gogoanime.nl / anime / heaven-academy-yq0z

Uso To Kiss

Complete | Minase Masara | 2005 released

Half-brothers // 26 y.o. seme x 17 y.o. uke // Age Gap: 9 years. > Note: at the end of chapter 5, the seme sees the result of the DNA test and, from his expression, we can tell what it was. Then in chapter 6 "Secret", it's basically confirmed by the the things the seme says. In any case, he intends to not tell it to the uke, fearing that he'll lose his place by his side as a lover. But I think the uke deserved to know...

Take Over Zone

Complete | minase masara | 2008 released

[[Track and Field theme]] I think it started out great, I really liked it at the beginning and I enjoyed it for all the first volume, but then it went downhill. The second volume was kinda disappointing. I mean, regarding the sports theme, it was fine. However, the plot, which didn't offer anything new anyway, was not much to my liking in the second volume, with things that I generally find annoying, like for example: the seme's senpai entering the story (already at the end of vol. 1) and the uke getting jealous; the seme asking the uke to take a break; then the seme's senpai confessing once more the the seme; and the seme's friend, also in the track and field team, asking the uke to go out with him and even kissing him. At this point, it would have been better if the mangaka included in the second volume a story for another couple instead, like for example the teacher and the team's captain, or invent some other couple out of all the members of the team. It's a pity, because it could have been a good sports series with multiple couples! Anyway, overall let's say I liked it, but it was not interesting or exciting to read. It was an ok story. A bit bland for me. It wasn't one of those stories that leave you with that satisfying feeling after reading...

Camellia

Ongoing | MINAMI Kiriko | 2000 released

// Complete // 4 Chapters (Discontinued) >> Note: "MINAMI Kiriko decided to discontinue Camelia because she felt as if she was giving out the wrong message to readers and the story became something that she didn't like anymore." - "She changed her name to Miko Kato because she didn't like how her pervious name was associated with Camelia." >> Note: "There were originally supposed to be 6 chapters and an epilogue but since the series has discontinued chapters 5 and 6 were never published. MINAMI Kiriko instead published chapters 5 and 6 in her novel adaptation of Camelia." - Novel chapters 5 & 6: kato-miko.com / works / %E3%82%AB%E3%83%A1%E3%83%AA%E3%82%A2%E4%BA%94%E8%A9%B1%E4%BB%A5%E9%99%8D%E3%83%97%E3%83%AD%E3%83%83%E3%83%88 / (Jap) > Oneshot for the series Camellia: mangago.me / read-manga / butterflies_don_t_dance_near_poisonous_flowers / (Note: It seems the author wanted to include it in the original manga but left it as a oneshot.) «✾✾» Personally, I was really liking this story. And by this, I don't mean to say that I like or support the violent and heavy issues portrayed here. It goes without saying, that such things, which unfortunately happen also in everyday life to so many people, are to be condemned. In fact, it's not a favourite of mine and it's not my cup of tea (apart from incest, which I like in manga). But what I mean about the story is that I think it was pretty interesting and well-written! Despite being obviously twisted, it drew me in. I don't know how it could happen that the author felt that she went off rail and that the story wasn't what she intended anymore. Maybe she received too many critics?? Well, only she can know. But personally I felt frustrated, because only two chapters were left to complete the manga and I really wanted to read it till the end. It's disappointing that the story got wasted, because it had potential and I think it was a good psychological story! Maybe it could have even been a 5-stars story! In the end, I gave it 4 stars exactly because it's regrettably unfinished. >>> [[SPOILER]] Based on what I understood from google translation, in ch. 6 of the novel version, Hyou goes to kill their father and, the day after that, he turns himself in. Then, it seems like, soon after his brother's graduation, he commits suicide in prison (?). In the end, Setsu goes to live at their cousin's family house. >> So, the novel version's ending is a heart-breaking tragic one. On Baka-Updates and here, the manga has a tragedy tag as well, but I preferred to not put the tag on the manga here, because in the chapters available there's not tragedy yet and the manga remains incomplete in actuality. So, I prefer to leave it at that. Then, if we consider the novel version, then it's tragedy through and through.
