Nana
.୧୨. I could go on forever talking about Nana, about all the things I loved and all the feels it gave me, but I'll just say that it's one of my all time favs and it was really love at first sight for me! Since my first contact with it, I loved everything...the plot, the characters together with their style, circumstances and emotions, the music scene...EVERYTHING! Seriously, it's like a drug for me, every now and then I feel the necessity to re-read the manga and watch the anime again! Nana is a MASTERPIECE for me and it will always have a special place in my heart, and that's why, being so precious to me, it's actually painful that it's been on hiatus for years already! ╥﹏╥ 21 Volumes (Hiatus) Anime + Live-action
Lovely Complex
The master nakao and his three lovers part was hilarious lol. I watched the anime years ago but I never brought myself to read the manga...I'm glad I did read it then, because it was really funny and cute. So, I totally recommend it ^^
Fruits Basket
Animal Transformation // Curse // Zodiac
07 Ghost
While I was reading this, my inner fujoshi self whispered all the time Frau x Teito, and it would have been really a dream, but apart from my obsession, this is a genial work, a masterpiece indeed. A gothic fantasy with an amazing plot, cool characters and it was a journey full of emotions: there is so much wisdom in this manga and it really touched me. And it's also one of the best stories with bromance: I love the beautiful deep bond between Teito and Frau, their meeting is fated and everything happens for a reason. Even if some things may be predictable, 07-Ghost is unique!
Sailor Moon
.୧୨. "Moon Prism Power Make Up!" - How many times did I imitate this transformation in my childhood?? Haha This is one of the first anime I ever watched and later on I also read the manga: a masterpiece in Mahou Shoujo category~ With the anime remake I couldn't ask for more!! Prequel: Codename: Sailor V This manga was also adapted into a live-action drama.
Kodomo No Omocha
Kodomo No Omocha....so many memories!! Everyday when I came back from school I'd watch the anime and Akito Hayama was indeed a part of my childhood: I think he was like the dream of every little girl...you can't deny it xD But it's not really just a manga for children, cause there are also mature themes, even if in the anime were kind of softened or a little changed. The characters face many hardships, they go through happy and sad times and you can feel their emotions as they grow up. There are lots of funny moments that made me laugh, but also serious and more mature ones: a good mix that makes this story, with children as protagonists, a manga for everyone. I might be biased but this story is so good, it never gets old, definitely a masterpiece. ➤ Sequel: Deep Clear (Honey Bitter meets Kodomo no Omocha) - the famous actress Kurata Sana is going to play in a new film as a detective. She wants to be able to impersonate her character as best as possible so she asks Shuri if she can stick around to learn a few things. Shuri also recieves a more intimate request from Sana's manager, Sagami Rei... ➤ Side Story: Mizu no Yakata (Mansion of Water) - This is the one shot of the movie that Sana and Naozumi starred in from Kodomo no Omocha.
Bokura ga Ita
ʚɞ Bokura ga Ita - We were there ʚɞ Tragic past and regret are the things that play a big role in this emotional story. The love story of a boy and a girl, from their teenage years till their early twenties. Through sad and happy moments, they experience many things and they mature also because of tragic and life-changing events. Reading this, I even cried at some points, cause there were so many emotions. In particular towards the end, all the missed timing made me think "what bad luck! will they be together?", but in the end, no matter how many years pass, I think certain love are simply meant to be. Bokura ga Ita is an award-winning work and, in fact, it didn't disappoint me. Aside the fact that I couldn't stand anymore Yamamoto Yuri, it's really a great story...definitely one of the best famous shoujo!
Chihayafuru
50 Volumes (Complete) It went exactly how I hoped for since the beginning, so I couldn't ask for more!!
Zankoku Na Kami Ga Shihai Suru
A Cruel God Rules in Heaven - MASTERPIECE, an Award-winning work by Hagio Moto, one of the pioneers of BL. In fact, this deep and mature story is a valuable icon of psychological BL for me. Tragic story of Jeremy, a young boy whose life will be completely destroyed after his mother's remarriage: he'll fall into a downhill spiral, without escape. Content: Child Abuse, Sexual Abuse, Rape, Drug Abuse / Addiction, Dark Ambience, Mind Break, Sadistic Pedophile, Trauma, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Murder, Prostitution - Maybe not everyone can take such a heavy story, it could be disturbing for someone, but I think it depicts, in an exemplary way, harsh aspects such as rape, child abuse, sexual abuse, which are serious issues that traumatize the victim and the wounds may never heal... In Jeremy's case, he was stripped of his human dignity, broken into pieces (both physically and mentally), driven to desperation! But I prefer a story like this, which portrays such aspects, cruel as they are, rather than manga where rape is treated lightly, veiled by romance as if nothing happened... Anyways, returning the the plot, Sandra was almost cruel as Greg, because she actually knew everything, but didn't do anything to help her son!! About the step-brother Ian, I actually liked him and I found interesting the development of his relationship with Jeremy. By discovering about the one who killed his father, he also finds out about the abuse Jeremy had to suffer...so he is torn on what to do: wheter to pursue the path of revenge or atone for his father's sins. Soon this dilemma becomes even more complicated when the lust for Jeremy begins to confuse him and the new question is: is this lust or love? Such a tormented story, but at the end of this thorny path, the one who truly helped Jeremy is Ian, so I want to see something good in this relationship between step-brothers!
