«✾(())✾» Akira (1982) by Otomo Katsuhiro - The timeless legendary classic award-winning masterpiece that inspired many works of its genre. Simply unique, breathtaking and mindblowing...reading this was a journey full of emotions! The plot, the setting and its visuals, the characters, the art...everything was perfect! Highly recommended, TOTALLY A MUST READ! No other words needed! And I actually don't need to write anything else to remind myself of this story, because it's truly unforgettable! Its essence and what I felt while reading it will always remain in my memory. The anime movie, a landmark in Japanese animation, is also great (a timeless favourite of mine and one of the best ever imo), but I also think it's just a taste of Akira. As a lot of things were left out (a great deal of the story actually) and others a little changed (not just in terms of storyline but also some characters and the parts they played in the course of the story), the development and some parts of the story are different. So, to experience Akira at its fullest, the manga is essential. [[Flipped Translated Publication - Read from Left to Right]] - Note: in the English version the story is set in 2030, but originally it's 2019.
