Adapted from Katayama Kyoichi's popular, heartbreaking novel called "Sekai no Chuushin de, Ai wo Sakebu", which was also adapted into multiple live-actions (Japanese movie and drama, Korean and Chinese movies). > Somehow, considering also the live-actions, this manga adaptation kinda felt like a summary. But it was still a beautiful tragic story!

️This is like the best kind of story for me, because it has all the elements that I love the most! First of all, because it's an old manga and that art style and general atmosphere never fail to make me so nostalgic. Then, it's a school life / youth story and it even includes BL! So, I totally love it...I wish there were more like this! > Too bad that it leaves us with that bittersweet, kinda suspending ending...it's like it brusquely came to an end soon after Okamoto says "that kind of relationship where feelings won't go further". That sentence sure hit hard, and poor Koizumi secretly shedding a tear...But just like Koizumi muttered to himself, let's hope that such feelings may change in the future! After all, Okamoto is not completely indifferent towards him and also he may need time to think seriously about the possibility of liking a guy and come to terms with that. And they will see together where their relationship of friendship, maybe something more, will lead them. In fact, while the manga ended, their story continued on. That's why I felt this was like a point of beginning, in a way, and it makes me wonder how things went between them then. I wish the author continued it, maybe setting it even after a few years when they were uni students or something...Anyway, while it was bittersweet, I really liked this manga!️

A thought-provoking masterpiece that needs to be read! It's not a very long story, but, in these three chapters, the author conveyed all that there was to say, all that was truly important to say. It's a very sad story, but it's beautifully and sensibly written. She quietly conveyed a beautiful anti-war message. It was humane and touching! In the end, it leaves us with a hopeful feeling for the future that somehow helps to fill a bit that feeling of void and desolation left by the first chapter. I also liked the structure in which the story was told. The shifts between present and flashbacks were well-executed. And the art style was very fitting. Adapted to anime movie. > Imo, the anime is great. I enjoyed watching it, but I must say that I prefer the manga. Maybe because some things were a bit changed in the anime and I preferred how they were in the manga. And in the manga I really liked the interaction between Seiji and Shizuku and the development of their relationship. Anyway, I recommend both manga and movie. It's a very pleasant and heart-warming story that I truly enjoyed. It's without a doubt a favourite of mine! Related series: 1 Mimi wo Sumaseba 2 Baron - Neko no Danshaku - Adapted to anime movie as well. Sir Cat the Baron and the cat Muta become protagonists of a fantasy story. 3 Yume no Machi - Neko no Danshaku [[I really liked also the unrelated story included in the second volume, ch. 6 "Kikyou no Saku Koro" - High School // Student x Student // Different Schools // 4 stars]]
