Who Can Define Popularity?
most wholesome bl couple. the last side chapters is really interesting, with all that gender bend stuff, personality change and how their parents met each other. also, can't help myself saving all those chibi version of them in my gallery.
Sweet Man
this is shounen-ai. with borderline yaoi or just mild smut. the art and coloring is really pretty and consistent from beginning to end. the story is good, but too much on political stuff. but i take that plot any day rather than stupid drama (such as dragged on misunderstanding, break-up arc, stupid decision arc, mc irrational behavior than can caused me to hate him in the blink of an eye). though i would totally understand if ppl start getting bored with the story. most ppl pointed out that they don't understand a thing and confuse about the plot. I usually like 2nd couple in manhwa, more than main couple. BUT not on this one. bc the subject of the 2nd couple is the father and the friend. i do find them interesting but also reluctant bc of the father. remembering the things that he's done to Hyunwoo. I never get bored with the main couple in this one.
Your Dream Is Delicious
it's been awhile since I've read anything i like so much, such as this one. I'm aware of these manhua years ago, but haven't felt the urge to read it. i admit that i judge it based on the cover. there's nothing wrong with the cover art, but i judge its plot in my head based on the cover art. "will this be anither annoying misunderstanding plot? will the "top" forcing the "bottom"? is this gonna be tsundere type character shit? is this going to be love hate?" all that thought running in my mind before i even read it. I'd say all this caused by a long term experience reading too many manhwa and manhua, i found way too many "misunderstanding" plot, too many tsundere mc, too many one sided affection between the mcs, too many "top" treating the "bottom" like shit or just being mean, simply just too many DRAMA. so when i read this, I'm taken aback by how wholesome it is, how there's no drama that's annoying, how there's no misunderstanding (there is 1 misunderstanding, but it was quickly resolve in that same chapter too), how everything goes smoothly, how both of these mcs show equal affection (not just one sided, like most bl I've read). any BL that show equal amount of affection is a WIN in my book. i hate it when either the top or bottom making a move, the other one reject in a tsundere way. i know not all bl mcs can be as affectionate as the mcs in this manhua, but annoying tsundere mcs trope really overpowed the affectionate mcs, based on the fact that I'm surprised finding this type of manhua. reading this can really fix your mood if you're having a bad day. thats all I'm gonna say. i adore everything about this manhua. the characters, the art, the coloring, the plot, the pacing and the author.
Reunion
well, adding this to my want to read list for now, bc I'm waiting for it to finish. though i actually already read up to chapter 16. but bc of my anxious traumatic ass afraid of wasting time spending on reading something heartbreaking (because you already know this manhwa art style really giving of that melancholic vibe), i took a peek at the end of season 2. so now I'm calming down and happy.
Incidentally Dyed By Spring's Love
the art is really good. this is an adaptation from a novel, the artist did a good job in drawing this, the vibe and aesthetic is very romantic. this is my 2nd time re-reading this. i still remember the first time i read this and how much impact their first time in the piano room, raining and wet. idk why, the vibe is so sensual and romantic though i know the characters are both in conflicting feeling of wanting and running. SPOILER AHEAD . Well, its such a shame that he throw away the diary though, it would've been pretty romantic if he read his answer. But then again, the story might've been shorter if he did read it, assuming the outcome.
Vampire Library
At first, i really doubt if this is BL, sure there's a moment, but its not enough to convince me that its BL, maybe just bromance. BUT i did "read" (well more like just looking at the ending raw) and yeah, its convince me its BL, its still not as obvious, but its good enough to be categorize as BL.
Boss Bitch Baby
holy shit this'll be the best manhwa I've for awhile. easily entered my top 10 fav BL manhwa. although the mc (i assume Yoosung is the mc? or the ml?) anyway, although Yoosung is not perfect (i still don't like the occasional domestic violence Yoosung did to Hojin. but in all the side story alternate universe and the valentine special chapters, Yoonsung doesn't seem like putting his hand on Hojin, especially obvious on omegaverse AU. so thats an improvement i guess). I'll be honest, the fact that i like this as much might be bias, because its not often (like extremely rare) that you see where the uke being red flag, and actually chasing after seme, and having regrets and trying to better himself. its that 'role reverse' thing that i like so much. i don't have a fetish about it or anything, just that you don't see this kind of mc and ml dynamic that often. I like different trope than the usual. for example, if omegaverse, i like that if the pairing alp x alp, omega x omega, omega x beta or alpha, beta x alpha, things like that. if its BL, its when the uke looks like seme and act like one too. dominant is the word. The art improvement is astonishing, although it might not seem obvious, the more the chapters, the more details the art becomes. anatomy drawing is so professional, coloring is even more details. you'll even more details art on the 'guide' side story.
Aporia
I'm not at all planning to read this manhwa. reason? its bdsm related, I'm not interested in that (yes i never read bj alex and i never will. i know its very popular though). but why am i still here? because I've finished reading it and i love it. now, how and why did i decide to read this? well, first of all, i just randomly pick it and even if i did randomly pick what to read, it doesn't convince me enough if the cover art not resonate with me. so, i did a search on mangaupdates and see what people added as 'tags' regarding this manhwa. and when i see it, there's no tags that I'm displease at (such as tsundere characters, obsessive or possessive behavior, r@pe, breakup arc, regretful character etc). so i decided to give it a go, its a gamble whether I'll end up liking it or not. even more when of a dangerous gamble that its 100+ chapters, my time would be wasted. But this read ended up to be something i really like. to the point that i want to categorize this as heartwarming or wholesome, but then again, it also doesn't feel right based on the art style (the art style is very much giving off that psychological genre vibe). there's two couples in this, primary focus couple is of course, the 2 on the cover art. the 2nd couple also really interesting and also engaging. i like it when the 2nd couple story start when the 2 is either a stranger or acquintance. these 2 is not a stranger, but not friends either. so its interesting to see these almost stranger get to know and wanting to know each other. while the main couple is a literal stranger, who didn't know about each other. but bc of their attraction with each other, they end up together first before getting to know each other. i must say, i don't particularly like or hate the art style, at first that is. but after awhile, i see alot of beautiful and artistic shots, the coloring and the drawing of foods also really good. though the way the eyes are drawn looking like 'scum eyes', its just a stylistic choice, its unique i like it.
