Ohayou, Ibarahime
I happened across this story purely by chance while I was trying to find something to read to get myself to fall asleep (terrible move! This is not the type of story you should be reading in order to fall asleep.. I never learn~ T_T) Anyway, at first, the creep factor was so real (not just because I decided to read it in the middle of the night, lol). However, it only added to the intrigue. I found myself engrossed in the storyline despite feeling scared and confused, lol. I kept wanting to know more. The suspense was wonderful! More importantly, the flux of emotions I felt throughout the story was absolutely remarkable. I was a mess! I could hardly contain myself. This story really pulled on my heart strings. I highly recommend this! Give it a read (beware of the onion cutting ninjas~). On a personal note, I relate to this story so much because of the Female Lead's circumstances. If you look at the ghost/possession thing as a metaphor, I think you'll come to realize that it's a depiction of depression. She was severely neglected growing up, and as a result, she fell into a deep state depression where she felt nothing but loneliness and hopelessness. So, she shuts herself in--both to protect herself and to avoid hurting others. In doing so, she becomes indifferent and apathetic. She gives up trying--she gives up hoping. A life void of love and affection is truly an empty one and one cannot live no without hope. To me, this was a masterful portrayal of depression and its struggles. Lastly, for all you who are struggling with depression, I want you to know that you are not alone. I'm thinking of you and I'm proud of you. You are stronger than you believe!
