K's secret
Employee Kim Doyoon has been working for 5 years. He has one secret that he can't tell anyone else - the fact that he's a half-vampire born between a human and a vampire. One day, a single mistake turns his whole life upside down. ---------- Very disappointing. That's the fastest way for me to sum up K's secret. K's secret had everything be both messy and rushed about it. The pacing was off-putting, and badly handled. The Artstyle inconsistent. The characters shallow. The plotholes were gigantic. It started off with *minimal* potential, with "small" hints to Kangwoo being interested in Doyoon. Though, nothing was subtle about it and instead got rather shoved in your face. Every other page or so, the Artstyle would turn for the worst, making the characters' expressions needlessly psychotic in a way. That sort of thing works great when handled correctly, but in this manwa, this was poorly used. Which unfortunately led to this lowering the enjoyment in my case. You are being sold two pseudo-romances, one for the main pair, Kangwoo & Doyoon, the other for the side characters, Jooyoung & Jeagun. Whereas I do see what the author tried to do with this story, and how they've tried handling it, the plot got way too rushed for any of the two to work, and instead were completely irrealistic and boring. You get Kangwoo & S., who are both some needlessly crazy dudes. Both of them, casually forcing themselves onto each of their "love interests". Manipulating, lying, & one of them even going as far as to go ahead and attempt murder on his L.I.'s foster son for his own interest, and even on said foster son's lover. The main pair's supposed to be "in love" but there was no build-up whatsoever, so all I could see was two extremely lonely people who somehow got convinced that they care for one another. This could have been different had there been more chapters possibly. But as it stands, all you get are two people, one douche bag and one who is simply trying to survive. As the pacing was all over the place, you jump all over the place without any logical connection whatsoever. You can still follow the storyline, but only in an absolutely uncomfortable way. In conclusion, this could have been a good story, had it not been so freaking rushed.Give it twice the amount of chapters, slow down with the beginning. Way too rushed, give the readers some time to get familiar with the characters and for the chemistry to develop between the characters. And use the premise more, this story felt more like a poor excuse for sex scenes than anything else. And chill on the freaking crazy characters ya'll. Just how hard is it to have healthy, sane characters in these..?
