Sokuochi Yarichin Yankee
The first story was okay-ish. I thought Tatsuo was cute in how he'd change behavior around Satoshi, but that's about it. ------ The second story had trash of a human being as ML. He looks down on anyone and everyone around him and shames the bottom. He used his position at his job to trick the second lead (forgot their names sorry) into having sex with him. Basically, he told him that he'd think about making him a host if he followed his orders, which was something the latter desperately wanted. Honey, that's sexual coercion, which is a form of rape. ------ Finally, the last one was hella rapey and predatory, even more than the second one. No thank you.
Burns
Well that escalated quickly. The f*ck did I just read?
Kanraku Alpha ~Enigma~ 4 verse
Kuga Tsukasa is the heir to a great company. One day at a party he meets a man who appears to be the heir to the Amou empire. Tsukasa is about to use him for his own gain, but without realizing it Tsukasa is already underneath him in his bed. ---------- The plot sure is interesting, with an intriguing setting to boot. I like the perspective this manga took on the Omegaverse genre. But I feel it had too few chapters for the heavy plot it tried to handle. So many details and scenes were either rushed or simply left-out. It's still a good read, but I think doubling the chapters for this one would have made the story feel a lot more natural. There also is some character development, but then again, same problem, it was too rushed, so you don't get enough time to really process the MCs' relationship and how they grow individually.
Sutenaide My Hero
Kaede (alpha) saves Azusa (omega), who was being bullied, before moving to another city soon after. Many years later, they meet again and Azusa says that he wants to pay him back and that he'll do anything if Kaede gives him a chance. Fortunately or unfortunately, playboy Kaede just can't reject such an opportunity of amusement. ---------- I'd have liked this one a lot more had it not been both rushed and forced, seriously, the omega and alpha had no chemistry whatsoever, not for one second could I feel their "love" for each other. To make matters worse, why on Earth did the omega's behavior get brought up to us as if it's cute or sexy. I get that it's omegaverse, and often that genre usually has a plot where the omega's the one being raped, but excuse me for doubting the logic of: "two rapes make a right" being sold to me here.
Under Grand Hotel
Read it twice, liked it the first time, disliked it the second time. This manga has good points, but also quite a few let-downs, so I can't really get into it and the characters are also pretty unlikeable. I'm not a fan of the Art as well, except for some pages.
A Guy Like You
Go Siwon's dreams are constantly visited by the clever, beautiful Kang Jinha. In the dream, Jinha keeps on mentioning this "incident" that happened between them but Siwon can't remember anything! And how can it feel so real? Luckily for Siwon, hints about the "incident" start to appear and Siwon is able to regain his memory bit by bit. ---------- The idea for the plot device was really far-fetched, and the characters were far from being well-written ones. The Art at first put me off, but the more I read through, the more I'd get used to it and eventually started to be okay with it. Whilst I liked the approach to Noh Seonyun's character, as well as Kang Jinha's development. The romance was really cliche. I did enjoy the conclusion regarding Siwon and Jinha's relationship, and how they handled it from there, their evolution as a couple, and especially Siwon's fears regarding his sexuality being known. This was a nice approach to an 'after I came out' story (kind of, it was forced on them, but still). I didn't completely hate it, but I can't say I liked it. There was such a sheer amount of unnecessary sexual assault and harassment, and this whole tragic backstory excuse for the antagonist is getting really old. I'm sick of characters being excused because they shed a tear or two. It's ridiculous. Waste of time in my opinion.
Bokura Ga Tsugai Ni Naru Made
This one's just straight up bad. The author tries to sell you some romantic-type shit, but like dude, they barely know each other, and when I say they barely know each other, I mean that they're not even on a knowing-each-other's-names basis, dude. The top apparently fell in love with the bottom cuz he be seein' him once or twice strugglin'? Brother who you trynna fool? Then somehow it ends up in some kinda weird relationship-type thing, which is completely and absolutely unbelievable to an extraordinary extent. I just can't buy it. They don't love each other, and who the f*** masturbates next to their friggin' siblings? Also, the dress thing? Sometimes drag/crossdress can be nice when well handled and brought into the plot, but this was so out of nowhere that I chocked on my coffee. Every single characters is unlikeable in this story, the parents are beyond irresponsible, the siblings, for the mere glimpse that we get of them, already tells us that they aren't any better, and finally, the two MCs are absolute idiots, the only (slightly) redeemable one was the bottom, and he was still borderline stupid. That's it for me, have a good day. Read at your own risk.
If You Hate Me So
Minjae accidentally witnesses a younger guy, Hyeongjo, jerking over the sleeping Assistant Professor Jinhan. From that day on, Minjae continues to suffer both mentally and physically from Hyeongjo. How will the relationship turn out between two guys who clearly hate each other and yet, who are also drawn towards each other for some reason that they don’t know? ----------- Damn... Ya'll ever heard of this thing called a therapist? This story would've worked perfectly fine without anyone raping anyone and being so unnecessarily edgy. I just don't get how any of this was viewed as necessity to the plot. It could have worked perfectly fine, and would have been so much better without anyone forcing themselves onto anyone... It had so much potential, an initial interest between the Minjae & Hyeongjo's characters, potential good chemistry. It could have made for a really enjoyable read. But nope! Ya just had to go and made this into some unnecessary rapey shit, didn't ya? The only times rape is "justifiable" in a story is if you want to work on traumas/psychology/thriller oriented stories. Just stop doing this seriously... And again, Hyeongjo, Kiseon, my dudes... Why you be so edgy? Take a chill pill and go to therapy will ya? Why do so many BL try to sell such behavior as "love". this isn't love. It's obsession. Mixed with psychological issues that need to be addressed.
The Good Luck Story of an Unlucky Guy
This was good until they brought magic into it.
