Will you marry me again if you are reborn?
Light & Shadow
It’s a rude insult when lowly and headstrong servant Edna comes to marry Duke Eli, instead of the noble daughter he expected. But the ambitious maid hides an even bigger secret behind her obvious ruse – one that could change the kingdom’s very history. Can the two find freedom, redemption – and love – without drawing their swords on each other? Based on the hit novels. ---------- This is such a comfort read. Characters were all so endearing and brought smiles to my face. The plot's focus isn't only the romance. We get actual content. I did feel at first that Edna & Eli had fallen for each other a bit too fast, but as the author managed to make it feel natural as the story progressed I wan't bothered for too long by this fact. Edna's character is such a refreshing one amongst female leads. She is head-strong, kind-hearted yet is no pushover and is very resourceful. Seeing Eli's growth as he develops feelings for Edna is also really sweet. Of course since this is still a Shoujo the characters aren't extremely detailed nor the deepest ones. But they're still plenty likeable. As a light-hearted read, this is quite the catch. The plot has substance yet isn't too heavy. And we get a fair amount of comedy here and there. It's predictable, yet enjoyable. I also liked the sweet-tone that the ending brought, giving both Edna and Cayden closure. Definitely a comfort manga.
