Wakadanna ni Goyoujin
(1) Freelance writer Shouji Tatsuru was sent to a hot springs resort to interview the young master Kuga Nanami. Nanami agrees to the interview only if Tatsuru worked in the hot springs for a month. Loved this. At first Nanami seems cold but he’s surprisingly adorable. Tatsuru too was clumsy, but hardworking and dedicated to his writing. I really liked how real the long distance relationship was handled. They missed each other but also didn’t want to interfere with each other’s work and passion. Loved it! Plus Nanami’s family and friends were so cool about his relationship. Go mom and friends! (2) Businessman Takeru was invited over to Shinji’s house to take cover from the rain but has been stuck in the room for a week since Shinji won’t let him leave. I didn’t really like this one, for the obvious reason, but also because Shinji’s relationship prior to the kidnapping wasn’t explained. I wanted to know why he liked Takeru enough to keep him locked in a room. (3) Ten years ago designer Tsukamoto Ibuki rejected his friend Miyauchi Yuudai after he forced himself on Ibuki. In the present day Yuudai is the project manager and Ibuki’s company is interested in the project. I didn’t like that Yuudai was using the project to coerce Ibuki into being with him. Then again at the end he didn’t seem to mind. (4) Shunsei is in love with the assistant professor Mizawa Kazuyuki, who rejects his advances out of respect for his father. I liked Shunsei’s perseverance, it was funny yet endearing.
Koi to wa Yobenai
Tsumori Ei was dumped by his boyfriend on Christmas Eve. He discovered a young man, Nakama Junpei, sitting out in the cold with a cat. A wonderful story with heartbreak, painful pasts, misunderstandings and all of the mess that comes with falling in love. This manga was just beautiful and realistic. It was funny, cute and heartbreaking. I loved all the characters and their complicated relationships. The only thing that was missing was a conclusion to Sagan and Kittaka. Other than that it was pure perfection.
Taiyou No Kikoushi
After failing the domestic tour guide exam, Saitou Hikaru stumbles into a strange foreigner in a part. During the duration of his vacation, Hikaru lets Leo stay in his house. They start developing feelings for each other, unfortunately Leo turns out to be a prince. A story filled with cute moments, heartbreak and sexy foreigners. I loved this manga so much! I loved how Hikaru helped Leo grow as a person and how their feelings for each other developed.
Kuroneko wa Shippo de Amaeru
One rainy day, novelist Sakaguchi picks up his neighbor Kazuya and his black kitten. Since Kazuya’s mother is allergic to cats Sakaguchi offers to take care of it. Kazuya began to visit him every day to see the kitten but also to spend time with Sakaguchi. I loved this. I like shy and introverted characters, and Kazuya was just so sweet. His innocence caused some funny moments. I also liked how Sakaguchi understood him.
Sakasa Moji nara Suki da to Ieru
Ano Koi no Tsuzuki
After breaking his leg, Morioka Sei befriends a calligraphy professor, Akimune, who’s staying in the same hospital. Akimune decides to make Sei the inheritor of his considerable fortune. When meeting with Akimune to discuss the matter of the inheritance, Sei reunites with his senpai, and first love Sugiura Takaki. However, Sugiura doesn’t seem to remember Sei and acts coldly towards him. This was a cute manga, if a tad too cliché. I liked it a lot, mostly because Sei is so precious. He’s like a little puppy, you just want to cuddle him. Even though he’s so fluffy and delicate, I like that he went after his first love, even when he was treated badly. Sugiura went overboard with the whole ‘keeping the distance’ thing but he wasn’t unbearable or anything. I see where he’s coming from but still. I was okay with him and his indifferent attitude. The side characters were great though. I loved the lawyer, Tateishi, he was awesome. I wanted to see more of him. I would recommend this if you’re in the mood for adorable protagonists and a light story.
