At first, I was pissed off with how the story went coz the uke is too indecisive. He can't decide whether to go or stop, he even went on telling his brother to go back to being stepbrothers and act like nothing ever happened between them and he did it twice! But then he muster up his courage and finally act according to his own volition and they made it together.

This reminded me of a manga I've read before (Boku no Kirai na Otouto story of Stockholm syndrome) the younger brother is very possessive of his older brother to the point of confining him in a room. However, this is kinda different since the relationship is kouhai / senpai but the behavior is similar. In the end, they still ended up being together.

Our dear couple Takashi (uke) and Hayate (seme) made a promise that they will date once a year on Takashi's birthday until our dear uke finds someone he likes more than Hayate. A promise that Takashi held on since high school and despite their circumstance, Takashi even fell deeper in love. Takashi thought to himself that he cannot continue with this unrequited love towards his straight friend, he lied by telling him that he already has someone he loves. Its a sad story of unrequited love having this feeling, that he needs to choose either to pursue his love, or have this kind of love be kept hidden. I still find this story really sad, even after reading it several times already...yet I still love it... I just hope this doesn't happen to me... a re-encounter, promises, once a year and all that ~~sighs~~
