Honestly, this sequel seems unnecessary. Volume 1 and 2 ended in a good place. This just raises more questions than it answers and makes Manabu (seme) seem even more scummy than before. (Spoilers below). It makes him seem more manipulative as they go into his use of sex as a tool e.g. his student and his brother's husband. The lack of communication is worse in this too. Yes, over-exposition is not a good thing but this is the opposite, some important questions are brought up (especially about the above) but are left ambiguously unresolved. Btw that third wheel guy has not given up on him... On the other hand, Atsurou (uke) has it even worse this time around. The seme's growing insecurities seem to be all heaped onto the uke and the latter is left to reassure them like consoling a child, instead of as partners. E.g. Chapter 5 really frustrated me, the seme had a very easy opportunity to redeem himself just a little; all he had to do was celebrate the uke's birthday with a cake thereby transforming some of Atsurou's childhood trauma into a happy new tradition. But no, he selfishly dismisses it like he's always done. Also, I feel that Atsurou's childhood trauma was utilized in just the right amounts in the first volumes, as a basis for the evolution of his relationship to love. (Updated 12/22) This time in ch. 6 and 7, they face the family but they still seem to make him suffer in the end. As of now, there's only 1 chapter left and a few short extras and Atsurou is still acting like a doormat. So disappointed. Qpa is currently serializing a new sequel "鬼と天国 及". As much as I loved the first 2 volumes, this one makes me very wary going forward.
