One word: everything about this manhwa screams "cliche OLD Korean Drama!!" yes, everything about it! From the plot, the romance, the background story, all that little details, even the supporting characters are just that cliche old Korean drama! Call it, any of those old trope. It fits them all here.
It can be good and it can be bad.
But you know why they got called cliche and old? It's because the more we grow the more we realize how ridiculous those cliches are.
Frankly speaking, this is Dog Blood drama written beautifully because the mangaka decides to spread poetic words all over.
The ML is an asshole, though I can understand why MC loves him, duh because he is HOT!
The MC is just a miserable heroine ala old Korean drama. Change his prefix into feminine one and I won't even realize that he should be a man.
The romance is toxic. But everyone has their own color. We should not judge the romance between radish and cabbage no matter how ridiculous it sound. So I won't give a shit about it.
The girls?
I bet everyone are sympathizing with her since she got raped, traumatized, and commit suicide in the end. But forgive me for being blunt, in fact what happened to her is extremely realistic.
She and her older sister, are your typical Korean drama heroine with oh so naive, lacking awareness of self preservation, running off their mouth and scolding some stranger dude like a smartass lady etc. I can't help but think their tragedies almost coming from their own making, because they couldn't fucking keep their hands to themselves, and just decides to have those "naive curiosity" and "naive meddling" ala Korean drama heroines.
I fuckin hate the older sister particularly. Because of her so unique heroine behaviors, she dragged her little sister into the quagmire.
And even until the little sister died, she still act miserably with her heroine acting who is so forlorn in love.
God I really sympathized with zeunhyung, not for the rape and trauma but for having such an annoying sister!
But bitches, im sorry , this is reality, not every man are gentlemen, not every man are your Korean drama actor who will say,
"Interesting. Woman, you are so brave and different I will make you mine."
No!!!
In reality gentlemen are scarce and scumbags are all over.
Then when those heroines ala Korean Drama actually were deprived of their luck as mary sue, what happen is exactly what happens toward Eunhyung.
Of course I won't be victim blaming. But im saying this as rationally as possible.
Those victims, DONT JUST BLINDLY PITY THEM, BUT LEARN AND CONTEMPLATE WHY THEY EVEN GOT THEIR END.
She doesn't deserve all that. It's tragic. But that is why girls, learn some self-perseverance.
Unique and different girls are cute in Korean dramas,
But reality is not drama.
Seriously, stop learning and following those heroines!
