Is This Hero For Real?

Ongoing | Farnar | 2000 released

You can see the similarities between this and the author's other work, FFF class trash hero. I think I like this one a little more though. Unlike most cases I appreciate the switch in perspectives every once in a while, it helps keep things fresh. We get to see what it's like in this world for people with different circumstances.

The Hero Returns

Ongoing | ant studio , 앤트스튜디오 | 2019 released

Pretty cool once it gets going, the plot is more interesting than the fights themselves. Arcs tend to have a bit of mystery sprinkled in and side characters can be fun without overstaying their welcome. Will give 5 stars if he reveals his power.

The Newbie Is Too Strong

Ongoing | shin jung-min (신정민),midas | 2019 released

Maaaaaybe good? Need to give it more time as I'm not quite caught up to raws. Guy uses some crackhead logic to get past very dangerous monsters, it works. He's now rising up the ranks in a slightly more traditional fashion but still does something strange occasionally.

Helmut: The Forsaken Child

Ongoing | Htfc | 2021 released

Pretty good. Don't care for the seed of darkness stuff but I've always had a soft spot for characters that grew up isolated and learn about people along their journey. This one wasn't completely alone though so he has a decent bit of common sense, just less so when it comes to society as a whole. Like his personality too, calm and reserved but not afraid to stand his ground.

Archmage Transcending Through Regression

Ongoing | Attr | 2021 released

Sweet, MC is out here to get shit done. Just the right amount of serious and cunning mixed with confident and a little crazy. The magic isn't utilized as much as you'd think but I think this may change and what is there is fairly in depth. Fun side characters with some genuinely good gags.

Dungeon Odyss

Ongoing | | 2019 released

I like the dead eyes bored look MC got, it's cute. He can be really cool or hot sometimes too though. The lil Naga lizard guys are adorable and even the big ones are so wholesome I love them all. It can get a bit dark sometimes though, one of the soldiers dies and another permanently lost an arm. They give a whole sob story to a guy that gets killed minutes later with all his comrades and it hits hard. MC doesn't exactly get emotional but he does seem to like them. Good system, MC hides his power but does cool things in front of an audience often enough to satisfy that itch.

I Regressed to My Ruined Family

Ongoing | | 2019 released

I liked it quite a lot when I was reading it, but nothing really stuck. It's cool but not exactly my type I guess. He shares his knowledge and to an extent powers with other people, and in general is a bit weaker than I'd like. He still wreaks havoc fairly often though.

Boundless Necromancer

Ongoing | | 2019 released

Has potential and art is really good. He gets strong pretty fast, so it doesn't suffer from "boring until halfway through the story" syndrome. The system tries to be unique but it's just meh. No side characters to speak of yet. I'm curious to see if he's in the tower for most of the story or if he's actually getting out kinda quick.

Infinite Mage

Ongoing | | 2019 released

Very fun. Smart MC that's pretty relatable. I ended up liking the couple chapters of bromance we got and his family is wholesome too. Interesting magic system and variety in the plot. EDIT: The school arc is kinda generic ngl. EDIT 2: Honestly underwhelming. There aren't that many cool op moments, the magic system makes no sense, it's just made up technobabble. The other characters range from boring to annoying.

Dangerous Dungeon Escape

Ongoing | | 2022 released

Unsure. Sometimes it seems pretty cool, other times it's mid. It'll really depend on how the story progresses.
