The hero was an immortal who died protecting his lover, a cat demon. Then that cat demon put his spiritual energy into the guy's body, which allowed him to track his future reincarnation. But that shortened his lifespan, so he made a deal to make his body last long enough to meet his lover's reincarnation. Now he has met him, but he is very weak and needs to stay close to him since he still has his spiritual energy.
