On chapter 89 rn and I'm really not vibing Yeah we knew the ml was a red flag, but he's really not getting better at all - this guy is making some bl red flags look peachy perfect in comparison. Tbh its getting to the point where its pissing me off. At first I thought the author was setting it up for him getting slowly better, but he really isn't. Its getting to the point where a lot of his actions are really inexcusable but the glamour of romance somehow makes everything okay (heavy on the sarcasm here). Our girlie-pop of a protagonist barely even says a thing, the entire situation just reminds of an emotionally abusive relationship. The whole lucid dreaming thing seems to have taken a major backbench as well, which a massive shame bc it was a super unique and interesting aspect of the story. I just feel like the whole way it got shoved to the side just for some basic red-flag-toxic-romance-drama is a real shame. Don't get me started about how pissed I got when the protagonist felt the need to apologise for hanging out with friends; girlie even acknowledged the Baek Siyuun has no one else but her and that that's bad but didn't think to ask if he would be willing to open to others. And how has this girl not asked him to go to therapy yet - forget her bc she's not the brightest bulb in the box, are u telling me the doctors looked at someone who had his dream crushed bc he got ganged up on and spent ages in what appears to be a major depressive slump (and spent ages in a weird sleep coma) and went, "Therapy? Nah, don't think he needs it" My least favourite form of inaccuracy will always be medical inaccuracy. Super side note: I actually can't think of what the protagonist and the ml talk about when they're hanging out, yanno? Anyone who's been in a relationship will be aware of the playful side of things where you joke around and shit, but all we've seen of the two together is them spending a shit ton of time together. Idk they just have no chemistry at all and all of the joking around is about how they have take-out bc home-boy can't cook (like fs its the same thing joked about over and over). Knock-off Makoto had better chemistry with the protagonist. Don't even get me started on how unusual it is dude is able to life like a wealthy kid - manhwa logic at its finest. Even with that president supporting it makes no sense (ignoring the weirdness of the president even supporting the guy) Man isn't even considering his future, wasting money on take-out everyday ffs. Transmigrate me into the black-haired, gold eyed dude, when the ml was still in high school bc this entire plot annoyed me at its wasted potential - I am willing to go change it. Thank you for reading my not so humble review~
