Fave character is Meimei the maid who was crawling out to do makeup after just recovering from a stabbing ahhahaha Had to stop at chap 83 bc of silly the fmc was being and I just felt really shit about the emperor... like yeah, he's kinda scum but not that bad to me, maybe bc of bl but the scene where he ate that flower was an incredibly impactful scene and I felt like his presence was like 'woah' before his mind got crushed by the mystery drug. Attempted rape was inexcusable, but the brother is getting forgiven so I think the same is kinda being done to the emperor. Idk I think I like him bc he's so interesting in comparison to some other VERY bland and very 2d characterisations - his fear, his addiction and all of his mental problems are so interesting goddamit that I just wanna know all about him. Is his fear of death and aging due to the incredibly competitive nature of the palace? A lack of clear knowledge on what happens after death or a drug fuelled existential crisis? His indifference his children and family and love is likely what kept him on the throne, but the effect of that on his mind is fascinating (I want to see him crumble but I also want to fill in the cracks with gold and see what he looks like at the end). God I really wanna see his character in his prime, bc if man is that terrifying after drinking dubious youth elixir that crushs mind, body, spirit, what on earth is he like healthy (an intelligent monster)? Someone write fanfic on this man and send me a link bc I just wanna knowwwwww (I can't write, helpp) (Or rec something with a guy like this as mc, preferably on harem lol)
