Oshi no Ko
The plot is so interesting, following the reincarnation of an idol's fans that had died and became her children in their next lives. Its follows the revenge plot of Aqua who was murdered by a stalker fan who also killed his mother. It also gives great insight to how harsh the world of being an idol is... I came across the manga after Moonbin's death on the 19th of April 2023, so this hit deep. How fans love to think they know an idol, but they don't know that an idol that they claim is "real" and "authentic" is still lying and hiding something... Moonbin who is seemingly lively, happy and always smiling and comforting, took his own life. We don't know what hardships an idol is going through, yet we pretend to know. We hate on an idol for showing even a little bit of vulnerability and shut them down. But when they're gone, they feign consideration and care... Its so easy for people to say it must be easy being an idol, but they want to drown in their own self pity and invalidate other people's struggles. There's so much to being an idol. The more years go by, the standards get higher and more grueling.
