Idk I feel like bc of the gigantic issues of the war and homophobia and racism
somehow the connection between the two characters wasn't convincing enough for me to believe that they'd choose the amount of pain that they'd have to face. Or maybe it was all escapism but then this wouldn't be a love story but a story of running away. I wish they'd showed more of why they actually choose each other cos at this point it just seems like a it just kinda happened and they ended up working out which to me is too meh
