spoiler: nah the priest is her ex lover who killed her in her prvious life cause she chose hades over him and now he has to kill her in every life that they reincernate into as a punishment once they both ragain their memories, so he has his so he deliberetly trying to kill her before she remeberes that why he weaked her core and than subotaged the other priest to squueze her hand and than he brainwashed the duke as to not make it into big deal.

DROPPED. He wasn't threaten into killing her...that was all him. He went into enemy territory with his commander's head so ofc the king wasn't rolling out the red carpet for him...he was part of the enemy. [SPOILER] He killed her so that she wouldn't die a villain, but that was never his decision to make. Their kingdom was corrupt af and he fell in love with her "naiveness"/"innocence" so he hid that from her. When she learned the truth, she was absolutely devastated bc her whole reason for fighting was lie. She learned that her actions caused a lot of people pain. They were already losing and khalid decided that it would be better to kill her. When they lost, if they let her live, all the things she's done would come to late and she would have to lead a life of shame, so he killed her so she wouldn't die a villain (in the eyes of the other kingdom bc obvi her own kingdom wouldn't think that). He made that decision of his own accord and to make it worse he kept her HEADLESS corpse in his home because he "loves her". She doesn't remember the stuff about her own kingdom because those memories were so traumatic that her brain is suppressing them. She also remembers meeting the ML once but thats it...in reality they met more than that and had some form of a bond however she only remembers their first encounter.
