Anne's manga / #Drama(11)

Started: 15.05.2019 and I finished in 2020. Reread in one day: 19.06.2021. It was a 5/5, it stays a 5/5. I absolutely love this Webtoon. From the plot to the characters to the art, this is what I'd call perfection. There's backstory but not too much, there's some character development and feelings that don't ever feel too rushed. I love it so much I don't know where to start. The main characters clearly go through some drama but it's not too serious while also not being too lighthearted, I especially loved the Coming Out chapters. While many Webtoons have super deep backstories, they weren't so important here but I also love not seeing some rich families intervene all the time so that didn't matter at all. The sidestory about MD and Chanwoo was part of this manga but also a complete thing on its own, amazing! I really like the way they portrayed the bdsm scene, especially including one of them using their safeword was so strong in that scene. I wish Chanwoo would've had an even deeper conversation with MD about their feelings there but as it was, it was already great. Talking about the cuteness of this, there's surely more towards the end than at the beginning, I'd say starting from around chapter 70 or something. The main protagonists are not your typical "3 chapters and they're in love" type of guys, it's pretty unrequired at the beginning. What else is there to say? The art for the sex scenes was amazing, I have several bookmarks which I will put in the comment in my "hot" list but to name a few: Chapter 21, 33, 66,... and btw, some parts of this were colored! Though that didn't matter much to me personally, I really like the monochrome color scheme as it is.

It started as a 5 star story but I personally think in the end it's only worth 4 stars. It was really cute but not that exciting I guess? Tbh, I'm writing this comment 6 months after its finish so I don't remember much anymore..

Hogu Hagyeongsu

Complete | im-aeju | 2016 released

When I say that I wasn't in a good mental space in 2019, I think the best way to show it is by saying that I previously rated this with 5/5 stars. Wow. After rereading this in one go, I'm now (2021) giving it a 2/5. Generally speaking, I feel like this has more sex scenes than plot but in a not too nice way as even at the end, it feels like it's rape. I do enjoy dark stories with dark plots but this was just.. plane. I can't believe that there wasn't a single real character development in 70+ chapters. No character showed a thought process that could be seen as "better" except of Yule in the epilogue though there he just seems out of character. For him, I don't see what made him change. They could've included him visiting a therapist and taking medicine to try to get better or something but changing just by himself? After everything he has done? Even within this unrealistic story setting, this seems unrealistic. Now talking about therapists, I think every single person that we've seen there, including the butler and maids, need one. For real. Especially Kyungsoo should also... I should let this topic rest unless you want me to write 2k more about this. Speaking of the sex scenes, as I said they were mostly rape. But as the story setting was just so.. messed up I must say that I couldn't enjoy this as much as I can enjoy other rape stories (which sounds sick, I know, but you are sick too if you're reading this). This was just.. uncomfortable? And not really hot?? Idk, the atmosphere wasn't it in most scenes. Oof But generally speaking, this was less horrible than I thought it'd be? Which is why I'm giving it 2 stars. What I want to remention though: It reaaaally feels like there's more sex scenes than plot. Thus, if you don't really feel like reading them (e.g. when you're like me and you decide to binge this in one day), after having read the 25th sex scene that just looks the same as the other ones, you can get through this pretty fast.

4/5 -> 3/5, ohh I've finally reached the stories that I've finished in 2020, nice. This one was also not as bad as I thought. The story wasn't particularly super interesting or super beautifully drawn or something but overall the plot line did make sense. I like that Jihun did have some sort of character development towards the end though I would've loved to see more of it. And honestly,, I do not like Kyujin as a character too much, he just seemed too pushy and hence kind of annoying. So yeah. It wasn't bad, just not my taste.

I read this on pheromone shower, everything is included there. I just wanted to rate this here too. If the ending didn't have some plot holes I'd rate it higher because I actually really did like the plot. The side stories are nice as well. A 6.5-7/10 and a 8/10 still makes it a 4/5 rating~

Burlesque Night

4/5 -> 3/5! Though I must say that this is like a 6.6/10 so it's like.. a 3.3/5 lol First of all, the chapters are LONG, which is a good thing. The art is very beautiful and the smut also looks great. The reason I'm not rating this with 5 stars is that it's a lot at once with missing parts. In chapter one there's definitely a LOT happening already and if all of that happened more slowly with more plot in between I would've surely liked it more. It's not necessarily a bad thing that this story was moving fast but I would've loved to learn more about the characters themselves, especially the bodyguard and his life, which we eventually also don't learn much about, before being thrown into the story like that. In this case it feels like we haven't fully gotten to know their personalities though a lot of time is being covered in this manga. Another thing is that in e.g. just chapter one, when I hadn't even fully grasped their feelings towards each other yet, suddenly all those dramatic things happened including them literally catching bullets for each other already?? And the mafia got involved as well? So yeahhh that could've happened more slow paced and the chapters could've been divided a bit more but other than that? I was a bit confused sometimes and there are definitely plot holes but overall this was pretty good :) The art in general, the chapter length and how nice everyone's relationships were (Ignoring the mafia part they all had nice friendships and no dramatic fake friends or something) convinced me that this was a good read! And though the trauma of the Burlesque was also explained very short and sudden, the bodyguards' reaction was sweet so that was nice I think.. though that was SUDDEN sudden and could've also been more detailed but that's just personal preference again Tw if you're interested shooting / being shot, physical assault, mentions of being stabbed , gang rape WHY ARE MY COMMENTS SO LONG CURRENTLY
