Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai

Ongoing | yoneda kou | 2011 released

Ok, review time. I read Doushitemo Furetakunai last year or the year before, and even though I didn't give five stars to that one, when I think about it, something inside me changes. I can't really remember how I found Saezuru, and at first, there were a few problematic elements about this story that I was worried about. But then, suddenly I couldn't stop talking about it. "Saezuru, saezuru, saezuru", all for the really interesting and promising thing that could happen. It happened, but in a so much better way than I thought. Yoneda Kou made Yashiro into a real human. She explains his behavior, and she justifies it. In the beginning, I didn't understand Doumeki's feelings, because it was sudden to me. But the well-developed story, the complex characters, and the mixed and fucked feelings you feel with them are so well-integrated. Really, this is amazing. That kind of story that gives me so many new feelings that I don't mind the way that the story will end. Of course, I hope, inside my heart, that both of them can finally be happy in the end. If I could say, it's something like Ash Lynx's death in Banana Fish. We hate it, but the whole plot and development were so great that we - try - to forgive Akimi Yoshida for it. And, of course, I must say: the art is amazing, the prettiest I've ever seen. There's not a single flaw in the story. Yes, I hate seeing rape, but here this subject is something to be overcame, and not something to be praised. I didn't love Yashiro or Doumeki. I hated Ryuuzaki. Now, I love Yashiro so much, because I understand his actions. That's what a good mangaka is like. And yes, I would fuck Doumeki and I adore Ryuuzaki, he's so funny and transparent. That's right. I guess Saezuru gets into my top five mangas. I'm looking forward to the next chapter. Thanks to everyone involved. Yashiro, don't be sad, your man is still yours and he always was.

Well, this is too complex omg. We need to stop sometimes to think about the story's connection. I really like the way we get a flashback in the middle of the story to tell us about Reiji and Magatsugu's story. I love old Reiji, but I don't know what to think about the new him. The new version of the "couple" is scary, in a way that you can clearly see how messy, chaotic, trashy, and disgraceful they became. The development is really well-integrated. Heavy. Complex. Crazy. I can describe it like this. About Yuki and his soon-to-be lover?, hmmm, who's gonna be it, I wonder? I prefer Hyoudo, but right now, he doesn't love him that way and the age gap is too damn big. In the other hand, Tetsu and Yuki don't match very well in my eyes, I see them much more as good friends than as a potential couple (but I do realize that they're a better option when talking about age gap). I don't know... I have my thoughts about them two (Hyoudo and Yuki). And what the fuck, this manga has only two updates per year???? Holy fuck, I can't believe that.
